Pokémon GO has revealed the Community Day in February 2024. Chansey will be the Pokémon of the day. We summarize all important information.
When is the Community Day with Chansey? On Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
What kind of event is this? The Community Day takes place monthly in Pokémon GO and always focuses on a specific Pokémon. During the February 2024 event, Chansey will pop up everywhere in the game while the event is running.
In addition, there are further bonuses that can be utilized.
All bonuses of the Community Day with Chansey
What bonuses are coming? During the three hours of the event, the following bonuses apply:
- Increased shiny rate for Chansey
- Double candy for catching
- Four times hatching speed for eggs placed in incubation machines
- Double the chance to receive XL candies when catching (from Trainer Level 31)
- Incense and lures will last for three hours during the event
- Snapshot surprises
- Wigglytuff can hatch from 2 km eggs, with increased shiny chance
- If you evolve Chansey into Blissey, it will learn the move
Thunder Shock
– this applies for up to five hours after the event
Additionally, after the event, Level 4 raids with Chansey will take place from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. If you defeat them, more Chansey will appear around the gym for 30 minutes, also with increased shiny chance.
Furthermore, there will be field research and showcases with Chansey, as well as an optional special research that can be purchased in the shop.
Who benefits from the Community Day with Chansey?
In brief: If you lack a powerful gym defender, you can get one here. Because: Chansey and Blissey are known as two of the best gym defenders. The monsters are very durable, and it takes quite some time to kick them out of the gym, even when using the best attackers in Pokémon GO.
As soon as the first leaks spoke about Chansey being the monster for February, initial trainers expressed nervousness about the Pokémon.
Now many trainers will get the chance to secure a strong Chansey and gather the necessary candies to level it up.
However, some voices have also raised uncertainty about whether they are looking forward to Chansey Day: “I don’t think I want the ‘Grueling Gym Battles’ Community Day,” writes user “zott_23” in the subreddit “TheSilphRoad” about Pokémon GO.
Another user emphasizes that Chansey and Blissey primarily serve their purpose in defending gyms and prolonging the battles: “The only reason you don’t see Chansey and Blissey defending gyms more often is that they are so rare that it’s quite a challenge to get them to a high level. But after this CD, many people will have multiple Chansey and Blissey at a high level,” says user “Ben2749” (via reddit).
At the same time, user “schlucks” (via reddit) emphasizes that such a balance occurs and brings players on the same level who previously had no good Chansey compared to those who have been playing Chansey and Blissey for a long time.
