In Pokémon GO there is a mysterious tweet about a new Pokémon. Many are sure of one thing: Rotom will be coming to the game soon.
What is this tweet about? Last night, Niantic posted a message stating that they discovered a suspicious folder on Professor Willow’s PC.
Afterwards, the speculation began and many players mainly had one idea of what the suspicious folder could imply: Rotom.
These hints point to Rotom
This supports Rotom: The Pokémon from Generation 4 already had the abilities in the console games to infiltrate electronic devices.
Thus, it can now also enrich the story of Pokémon GO and may have infiltrated Professor Willow’s computer.
That’s why Rotom would fit: The Pokémon is of the Electric and Ghost type. After all, Halloween is just around the corner, and Niantic likes to add new Pokémon during an event.
So there could also be a special research like there was recently with Kryppuk. There was also such research during Halloween 2018.
This makes Rotom special: This Pokémon appears in various forms. There is the base form, but also 5 forms that it takes when it infiltrates the respective electronic devices. So we have:
- Heat Rotom (Microwave)
- Wash Rotom (Washing Machine)
- Frost Rotom (Refrigerator)
- Fan Rotom (Fan)
- Cut Rotom (Lawn Mower)
It remains to be seen how Niantic will eventually bring these forms into the game. It could also be the case that only the base form will be catchable at first.
How strong will Rotom be? The Pokémon will not be a weapon in the game and will not change the meta. It will only reach just over 2000 CP and does not have impressive stats.
Could the tweet mean something else? Currently, there is no evidence to suggest that. From a Pokémon standpoint, only Rotom fits this story. However, it is quite possible that Niantic has something else in mind. We will have to wait and see.
