The developers of Pokémon GO have now announced when the Christmas event starts and what bonuses you can expect during these days. Among other things, you have a higher chance of catching the starter Pokémon Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur and their evolutions. Additionally, there is a higher probability that Togepi and other recently added Pokémon will hatch from eggs. We will show you what rewards you will receive during the event.
Pokémon GO: Christmas event starts on December 25
After a long wait, the developers finally announced details about the Christmas event that fans have been looking forward to. From the afternoon of December 25 until the evening of January 3, you will receive a free egg incubator with a charge at PokéStops on each day in Pokémon GO after your first spin.
Clues to this event were already found in the game code
During this period, visiting PokéStops increases the chance of eggs, that include Togepi, Pichu, and other recently added Pokémon. The Pikachu wearing a Santa hat will also be around for a longer time, and it has a higher chance of appearing as a wild Pokémon from December 25, 2016, to January 3, 2017.
Additionally, from December 30, 2016, to January 8, 2017, you will have a chance to encounter the first generation starter Pokémon and their evolutions more often. This means a high probability of seeing Squirtle, Wartortle, Blastoise, Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, and Venusaur, as well as Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard.
Moreover, lure modules will last twice as long (60 minutes instead of 30 minutes) during this time.
