In Pokémon GO the water research day is coming up. We show you how to make the most of it.
When does the research day start? The research day starts on March 21 at 2:00 PM. It ends at 5:00 PM.
Which Pokémon are the focus? The water research day follows the motto Replay
and brings back some old research candidates. These are:
- Loturzel
- Barschwa
- Perlu
You will encounter these three Pokémon when you collect and complete field research during the event. All three will have an increased shiny chance.
In the wild, Karpador, Lampi, and Garstella can be found. They can also be shiny, but do not have an increased rate.
How to make the most of the research day?
The most exciting part of the research day is the increased shiny chance. Accordingly, you want to collect as many encounters with Loturzel, Barschwa, and Perlu as possible.
This means: You need to gather as many researches as possible. Proceed as follows:
- Visit a PokéStop, spin it, collect the research
- Make sure it is a research with Pokémon encounters. Otherwise: Delete.
- Ensure that the research is quick to complete. Otherwise: Delete.
- Head to the next PokéStop, completing your previously collected researches during this time.
- Claim the research, catch the Pokémon.
- Visit the next PokéStop and repeat the process.
As PokéStops always need some time to release new researches, you should constantly target and visit new PokéStops. This way, you will get new research tasks.
Importantly: Delete researches that take too much time. Make sure you have as many free research slots as possible when you approach new PokéStops.
Otherwise, you can only hope for your luck and receive the Pokémon as shiny that you wish for. In the coming weeks, you will have even more opportunities to catch many exciting Pokémon. The next month is already approaching rapidly: Here you can find all events in April 2026 in Pokémon GO.
