In Pokémon GO there is a Raid Day coming up again. For all those looking for Shinies, this could be an interesting date.
What kind of event is this? The event is the “Raid Day with Sparring Partners,” recently announced for Pokémon GO.
When does the event start? The event starts on April 13, 2025, at 14:00, so next Sunday. It ends on the same day at 17:00. You have about three hours to secure the bonuses of the event.
What is the highlight of the event? The Raid Day features not just one Pokémon as usual, but three.
- Mega-Skaraborn appears in Mega Raids
- Hariyama appears in regular Raids
- And Zurrokex also appears more frequently in Raids
The special thing: With all three, you will receive an increased Shiny chance when you catch them from Raids. Therefore, you have a really good opportunity to catch a rare Shiny if you are lucky. Especially Skaraborn, which is one of the regional Pokémon, is otherwise not easily obtainable.

What does the Raid Day with Sparring Partners bring to Pokémon GO?
All bonuses: In addition to the mentioned higher Shiny chance for the three Pokémon, the following bonuses are included.
- You can get up to five free Raid Passes by spinning Gyms during the event.
- With the regular daily Raid Pass, that makes up to six Raid Passes that you can use.
- Keep in mind: The next free Pass is always given only when the last one is used up.
- The remote Raid limit will be increased to 20. This applies from 02:00 in the morning until April 14 at 05:00.
- The three Pokémon can learn the move “Quick Counter.” This does 70 damage in Trainer battles and can lower the opponent’s defense. In Raids, the move does 50 damage.
- A limited research that brings you Stardust is also running.
Additionally, there is an optional event ticket in the shop. It costs 4.99 US dollars (similar in Euros) and grants you up to eight additional Raid Passes when spinning Gyms, as well as an increased chance for XL Candies from Raids, 50% more XP from Raids, and double Stardust from Raids.
