That’s why it’s worth making the most out of the Meltan Box during the Trading Card Event and catching as many Meltan as possible. You can recognize the shiny version by its slightly darker head.
Are there more reasons to wait? Yes! Normally, the cooldown of the Wonder Box lasts 3 days. This means that you cannot activate it during this time. However, during the event, the time will be reduced according to Niantic (via pokemongolive.com). However, how much the cooldown will be is not yet known.
To optimally use the box and increase your chances of a Shiny, you should ignite it as often as possible during the event. If you activate it again before the event, your cooldown will be the usual 3 days, and you can only use your Shiny chance later.
How long it will take until you can use the Wonder Box again can be seen in the game. To do this, click on the Wonder Box in your item bag. There is a counter that tells you the remaining days. Once this reaches zero, you can start the box again.
You must consider: It’s important when igniting the Wonder Box that you do not activate any other smoke. Both do not work together. If you do this, it may happen that you do not receive any spawns anymore. So, prefer to use only the Wonder Box.

How strong is it? Meltan is not among the strongest Pokémon in the game. The situation is different for its evolution. Melmetal can benefit from a high stamina value, and its attack and defense values are also solid.
