In Pokémon GO the Valentine’s Day event will take place in a few days. On this occasion, three new Pokémon will celebrate their debut in the game and there will be a new form of Coiffwaff. We at MeinMMO will show you what bonuses, spawns, and special features await you.
What kind of event is it? In honor of Valentine’s Day, there will be a special event in Pokémon GO. As in previous years, thematically appropriate Pokémon will be the focus. You can also expect several bonuses and the following highlights:
- a special global challenge
- a new form of Coiffwaff
- the new Pokémon Flabébé, Floette, and Florges
When does the Valentine’s Day event take place? The Valentine’s Day event starts on February 10, 2022, at 10:00 AM local time and lasts until February 14, 2022, at 8:00 PM local time.
The new Pokémon Flabébé, Floette, and Florges
As part of the Valentine’s Day event, there will be a new Pokémon available to catch in the game: Flabébé. This Pokémon comes from Generation 6 and is of the Fairy type. It can evolve into Floette and then into Florges. The evolution has a special feature for you.
To evolve Flabébé into Floette, you only need 25 Flabébé candies. However, for the final evolution, you will need not only 100 Flabébé candies but also to earn 20 hearts with Floette as your buddy to trigger the evolution.
Flabébé will be available in Pokémon GO starting with the Valentine’s Day event in the colors red, yellow, orange, blue, and white. However, not all its forms will be available everywhere. As you may know from other monsters in the game, the red, blue, and yellow variants will only be found in specific regions of the world.

Is there a Shiny Flabébé? No, Flabébé will initially not be catchable in its shiny form in Pokémon GO.

In addition to the three new Pokémon Flabébé, Floette, and Florges, you can encounter thematically appropriate monsters in the wild and in raids. You can look forward to the following spawns:

All Bonuses and Challenges for the Valentine’s Day Event
Of course, during the Valentine’s Day event, you can also look forward to one or the other bonus. Additionally, the event also holds two challenges for you. Here’s what they are:
- Coiffwaff can be changed from the Fluffy form to the Heartcut form
- Gallade and Gardevoir will learn the event move Synchronoise
- Collector’s Challenge
- Reward: Encounter with a female and male Quabbel
- Incense lasts twice as long
- Buddies bring items more often

Global Challenge
As you may know from past events like GO Fest 2021, there will also be a global challenge during the Valentine’s Day event. The goal is for all trainers worldwide to send a total of 70,000,000 gifts.
If the set goal is reached, you will unlock the following special bonus for the remaining time of the event:
- 3x candies when sending your monsters
When will the global challenge be unlocked? This challenge will be available starting February 9, 2022, at 9:00 PM local time and will extend beyond the actual event period until February 15, 2022, at 9:00 AM local time.
