In Pokémon GO there is a new item: The Rain Lure Module. Here you will learn what the new module can do, which Pokémon it attracts, and how you can use it for evolutions.
What is the Rain Lure Module? The Rain Lure Module is a variation of the previous lure modules. Previously, there were the usual modules that simply attract Pokémon, as well as Glacier, Moss, and Magnet Lure Modules.
The latter three modules attract Pokémon of specific types and help evolve certain monsters. And the new Rain Lure Module also falls into this category.
How to get the Rain Lure Module: Basically, the Rain Lure Module can be found in the shop and costs 200 coins. This is about two euros if you use real money in Pokémon GO. Alternatively, you can earn the necessary coins by defending gyms.
Additionally, you can also get a Rain Lure Module from the currently ongoing research in the “Illuminating Legends X” event. It is part of the tier rewards for completing the limited research. The research is available until May 17, 2021, at 8:00 PM.
Which spawns does the Rain Lure Module trigger?
How do I use the Rain Lure Module? Once you have a Rain Lure Module in your inventory, you can use it at any PokéStop that is close enough. To do this, simply click on the PokéStop and select the small icon above the photo disc. There, you can fill the free module spot with a module of your choice. The Rain Lure Module will then be active for 30 minutes and start attracting monsters to the PokéStop.
These monsters are attracted by the module: Like the other three special lure modules, this module targets monsters of certain types. The Rain Lure Module attracts monsters that love rainy weather. Primarily, these are Water, Bug, and Electric-type Pokémon.
This means the list of possible spawns is quite large. Trainers have started gathering possible spawns in the Pokémon GO subreddit (via reddit). Some of the Pokémon that have been encountered with the Rain Lure Module include:
- Frizelbliz
- Wattzapf
- Schallquap
- Enton
- Webarak
- Flunschlik
- Gehweiher
As soon as there is more information about the exact spawns of the new lure module, we will keep you updated here at MeinMMO.
What evolutions does the Rain Lure Module bring?
This monster can be evolved with the Rain Lure Module: Currently, you can evolve a specific monster with the Rain Lure Module. This is the Dragon-type Pokémon Viscogon.
To get Viscogon, you first need to evolve a Viscora into Viscargot using 25 candies. This can be done without the Rain Module. If you then want to evolve Viscargot into Viscogon, you must be within the range of the active Rain Module and have 100 additional Viscora candies.
However, the Rain Lure Module is not strictly necessary for the evolution. Alternatively, you can also evolve the monster if it is raining in the game – and thus also in the real world. So if you live in rainy areas, you can also try to match the right weather. If you want full control over the timing, you can use the Rain Lure Module.
Another Pokémon for which there is currently an evolution trick is Parfi. You can find out how to get its evolution Parfinesse in Pokémon GO here.
