The big update that Pokémon GO players have been waiting for is likely to be released in December. Over 100 new Pokémon (including legendary Pokémon) and player versus player battles are expected to be activated in-game during the Christmas season, according to Venturebeat. Among the legendary Pokémon, Mew and Mewtwo are expected to be included.
Pokémon GO: Will legendary Pokémon be available to catch soon with the update?
As Venturebeat reports, it was discovered during the analysis of game data that Niantic is planning a huge update for December. Players will receive many features they’ve been waiting for. With over 100 new Pokémon from Generation 2 and trainer versus trainer battles, community requests would be fulfilled.
Legendary Pokémon like Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, as well as Mew and Mewtwo, have been a topic of discussion among players since the game’s release. It is unclear whether the update will be released as a large package or in smaller installments. PokeVS reviewed the game’s code and found that the update can be expected during the Christmas holidays.

Allegedly also trading, player versus player battles, and Pokémon breeding in the update of Pokémon Go
PokeVS also claims to have discovered the possibility of trading in the code, and players should be able to “breed” their own Pokémon once they hatch from eggs.
Niantic has not yet commented on this potentially upcoming update. However, John Hanke has previously stated that features such as trainer versus trainer battles could definitely be in the game.
If this update occurs during the Christmas season, the game is likely to experience another strong hype and thus survive the difficult cold period when trainers are less inclined to go outside. However, if legendary Pokémon are waiting, neither snow nor frost can deter a true trainer from their goal.
