Pokémon GO: Update brings new feature – Here’s how to use the camera now

In Pokémon GO the last part of the big update has been released. We present the new camera feature to you here.

What kind of update is this? The big Rediscover update consists of a total of four parts, all of which have now been released in Pokémon GO.

• The first part was the criticized Avatar update
• The positively received second part brought the biomes
• With it came part 3, the Rediscover Kanto event
• And now, at the end: The part named Discover Reality Anew

What is Discover Reality Anew? Here, the augmented reality aspect of Pokémon GO has been revised again. Effectively, it is about the snapshot feature of your camera, where you now get more functionalities.

We will introduce these features to you below.

How does the new snapshot feature in Pokémon GO work?

Here’s how to do it: Select the camera in the item overview or click on the camera icon with your Pokémon. By now, there is also a direct camera button in the main menu of Pokémon GO.

When you switch to the camera, you can place up to three Pokémon in the real world instead of just one as before. The game also suggests thematic combinations in the new snapshot menu that you can try out, for example.

But you can also make your own selection.

In camera mode, the Pokémon you can place in the image will be shown at the bottom. You also have the option to place flying Pokémon in the air.

If Pokémon do not land where you want them, you can recall them into the ball and place them again. Additionally, there are a few features you can use for your pictures:

• You can use a toy to make your Pokémon look in your direction – or somewhere else.
• Your Pokémon can smile or perform actions on command via a corresponding button.
• The created photos can also be edited with stickers.

You should note: The Reality Blending that Pokémon GO uses for snapshots does not always work flawlessly. It may happen that your monsters are unluckily cut off. In that case, you can turn off the corresponding option in snapshot mode.
