Update 0.149.0 is available in Pokémon GO and brings numerous new features. However, an important trick has also been removed. We show you the highlights of the latest update.
When will the update arrive? Currently, it is being rolled out. Some Android users can already use it. iOS users will have to wait a little longer. By the end of the week, the update should be available for download everywhere.
What’s new? The biggest highlights of the update are probably the new rating system and the addition of numerous crypto Pokémon.
There are also some minor updates in PvP and other areas. One change has left many Android players mourning, as the catching trick no longer works.
Update 0.149.0 – What’s Included?
What’s new in PvP: The mode of Trainer Battles is getting a proper overhaul. You will now need significantly more skill and accuracy when using the charge attack.
This now spreads across the entire screen and you have to try to collect as many attack particles as possible. The more particles you have, the stronger the attack.
Egg bug fixed? The update addressed some text passages regarding hatching eggs. It is suspected that the egg bug has finally been fixed.
Previously, not all eggs that were hatched were displayed. Some animations were skipped. Only in the Pokémon box could one track what they had hatched.
Lots of new information about Team Rocket: Niantic has already announced in the patch notes in the app store that Team GO Rocket is coming. This is the name given to Team Rocket in Pokémon GO.
Additionally, some more details about the encounter with Team Rocket have been found. Not really important details were revealed, it merely shows that a large part of this data seems to be in the game now.
Is Team Rocket coming now? Since Niantic has officially announced it in the patch notes, the release should not take much longer. However, it will be earliest when all players can download the update.
This will likely take a few more days for iOS users. One could expect a release of Team Rocket over the weekend.
New search commands: There are now a total of 9 new search commands in Pokémon GO. You can now easily search for Pokémon with 100% IV:

The last two commands currently function with the English terms. However, these will certainly be switched to German soon. So there may still be some changes.
Many fans mourn this removal
What was removed? Recently, there was a new catching trick for Android users. You only had to throw the ball and skip the animation using the arrow key at the bottom of the screen.
This has now been removed. So this catching trick can no longer be performed.
Is there still a catching trick? The usual catching trick, which also works for iOS users, is still available in the game. So there are no changes here, and Android users can still catch their Pokémon faster.
How are the players reacting? The community is sad about this removal. After all, it allowed players to catch Pokémon even faster.
Many players had hoped that this was not a bug but would remain in the game permanently. This has now been disproved with the removal.
Nevertheless, there is still a catching trick, which is why the mood is not entirely down. So one has to dig up the old catching trick again to continue catching Pokémon quickly.
