Changes in “Nearby” and bug fixes
On Reddit, trainer Bartlebyxxx posted that he was able to download the new update 0.99.2 now from the Play Store. The description of the update states that Pokémon nearby that are not yet registered in the PokéDex will be prioritized in the “Nearby” display. This feature was actually already incorporated in version 0.97.1 but seems to have been corrected now. For many trainers, the non-registered Pokémon were not displayed as a priority before the new version.
Additionally, the update is supposed to bring bug fixes to Pokémon GO.
What he also noticed is that PokéStops from which you have already received a field research give an indication. In the upper right corner of a PokéStop, a symbol is now displayed that indicates whether you have already completed the quest for that PokéStop on that day.
Dataminers already tackled 0.99.2 APK
The team from PokémonGOHub has already analyzed the APK and notes that there is another graphic texture for fire attacks in the game. However, which attacks will use the new graphic is still unclear.
In addition, the textures of the spinning PokéBalls (when the game is loading) and a new Google logo have been implemented. So smaller changes that will probably hardly be noticeable in the game.
Additionally, there is now an error message when trying to place a mythical Pokémon in a gym. This was not possible before, but there was previously no error message.
Notably, the datamining revealed two changes in the code that the experts do not yet know much about.
