The Pokémon GO update 0.69.1 for Android and 1.39.1 for iOS is coming and significantly changes the motivation of defenders. Additionally, an old acquaintance is returning to the game, which many of you have missed.
The new Pokémon GO patch 0.69.1 for Android devices and 1.39.1 for iOS devices is on its way to you. The Pokémon GO developers at Niantic have now released the update for rollout, which will gradually unlock the download in various regions and countries.
When exactly the update will be available in Germany is not yet determined.
The Pokémon GO update should bring back a missing team leader to the game. Additionally, a motivation bug is being fixed, which many trainers thought was actually intended that way.
Patch Notes 0.69.1, 1.39.1 – Pokémon affected with less than 3000 CP
The new Pokémon GO update fixes several bugs in the game. Unfortunately, this also includes a feature that we previously thought was planned this way. This affects Pokémon with less than 3000 CP, which lost motivation significantly slower as arena defenders than those with more than 3000 CP.
Apparently, the significantly faster motivation loss was the developers’ goal and is now intended to apply to monsters under 3000 CP as well. Here are the patch notes:
- The missing team captain “Spark” is back and is once again evaluating the Pokémon of Team Instinct as usual. Recently, trainers have already started searching for Spark on Twitter
- A bug related to motivation loss affecting Pokémon with less than 3000 CP has been fixed.
- A bug has been fixed that caused Pokémon GO to crash after potions were used too quickly in succession.
- An additional bug has been fixed that caused Pokémon GO to crash after all six Pokémon were defeated during a raid.
- The crashes on iPhone 6 devices should now be resolved.
“What? THAT was a bug?”
On Reddit and Facebook, the first reactions to the patch notes can already be seen. Trainers are puzzled by the bug fixes for the 3000 CP Pokémon.
As an explanation: You can assign monsters from your collection as defenders in Pokémon GO arenas. The defending Pokémon have a motivation meter. When this meter is full, they have high CP and are considered “strong”. Over time, this motivation meter decreases and consequently the CP of your Pokémon – they become weaker and are easier to defeat for arena attackers.
Diligent trainers quickly discovered that Pokémon with more than 3000 CP lost their motivation faster than Pokémon with less than 3000 CP. Therefore, defenders often employed monsters with up to 2999 CP, so that these retained their motivation longer and required less frequent feeding.
It was assumed that a bug was causing Pokémon with more than 3000 CP to lose their motivation so quickly. Now it turns out that this was exactly intended, and Niantic has now “tweaked” it. This disappoints many players:
- “Motivation bug for <3000 CP? Did I miss something or does that mean motivation is now dropping even faster?"
- “WAIT, the bug affected Pokémon UNDER 3000 CP?”
- “If the 10% motivation loss per hour now affects every Pokémon, Niantic should raise the coin limit back to 100 per day. It will be even harder to hold an arena for the corresponding limit time now”
Has Niantic also fixed this disgusting glitch of legendary Pokémon?
