These are the patch notes for the new update of Pokémon GO, which activates the Buddy Pokémon system.
To keep Pokémon GO successful, the developers regularly release updates for the game. In the latest update, which should be live now, there is an additional way to earn candies for special Pokémon. Furthermore, the developers are taking action against bots and banning them from the game.
Update: There are delays in the release of the Pokémon update. There is currently no official statement regarding the issues.
Buddy Pokémon are coming
The already introduced system for Buddy Pokémon has been activated in the game with this patch. This allows you to earn additional candies as rewards for your favorite Pokémon. You simply select it as your buddy, making it your active companion. Together, you then cover a certain distance to earn rewards for it.
Update changes in Pokémon GO:
- Buddy Pokémon activated
- Small Pokémon are now easier to select on the screen
- Fixed an issue where the animation for hatching eggs was not displayed
- Improved stability when switching networks. The app should no longer stop or interrupt the update
- “Pokémon GO Plus” support
- Minor text improvements
The developers also state that they will specifically remove bots from the game. Smartphones that are rooted or running with a jailbreak are not supported by the game. The app should be downloaded from the official Google Play Store or the iTunes App Store.
Note: There are reports that for some users the update is not yet available for download.
