A new update is on the way for Pokémon GO trainers and is being distributed in the app stores. Data miners have taken a close look at the update and examined what changes it brings.
The update 0.117.2 is currently rolling out and will be released gradually for various trainers.
How Patch 0.117.2 changes Pokémon GO
Data mining mainly revealed minor changes. The major reveal of Generation 4 has yet to be discovered.
Age Restrictions
The age restrictions in Pokémon GO ensure that children under 13 years old are denied access to certain features. They cannot use the trading function. This function was expanded in patch 0.117.2. A minimum age list for countries is now in the game.
There are also signs that parents will soon need to confirm a login. However, according to PokémonGOHub, nothing concrete has been found in the code yet.
Loading Arena Badges
In the past, loading badges in your overview was often associated with minor bugs. This should have improved with the update. The arena badges should now load faster and more reliably.
Changes for Raid XP
The different difficulty levels of raids in Pokémon GO reward trainers with various amounts of experience points. The harder raids bring more XP.

Friend Lists
The friend lists have experienced many improvements due to the update. Trainers on Reddit report that the lists lag less, meaning less stuttering. Scrolling should now feel easier.
Trade Warning
If you want to trade a Pokémon that is marked as a favorite, you will receive a warning through the new update. It tells you that you must remove the monster from your favorites before you can trade it.
Faster Starting, Accepting Bans
After the update, you may notice changes in the time it takes to start Pokémon GO. Three new actions are now performed at startup, which could shorten the boot phase according to data miners.
Additionally, changes were noticed regarding banned cheaters acknowledging their punishment.

Bugs
As with most Pokémon GO updates, version 0.117.2 has also fixed some bugs.

- Backgrounds for lucky Pokémon should now display correctly

Easier Switching of Models
In the APK, experts found hints that switching between Pokémon views (possibly when scrolling through the PokéDex) will be represented more smoothly.
QR Codes for Friends
Next to your trainer code, you will now find an icon for the QR code (already works with version 115.3). This should make adding friends significantly easier and saves players from having to pass on numbers.
EX-Raid Passes No Longer Shareable
In one of the last updates, version 0.115.2, there were hints that EX-Raid Passes could be shared. These attributes have since been removed from the game’s code:
