The Ultra Event brings Mewtwo, Zapdos, Moltres and Articuno as well as regional monsters. When the features in Pokémon GO will be unlocked and what you should know about it, we will show you here.
Today, on September 13, the first rewards of the Ultra Event in Pokémon GO are starting. This means for you: Regional monsters from eggs and legendary raid bosses with a chance of shiny forms. Here we summarize the most important points for you.
When does what start? Start and end
The events of the Ultra Bonus can be divided into four events:
- The regional Pokémon that hatch from 7KM eggs
- The increased Kanto spawns
- Raids with Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos
- Raids with Mewtwo
A large part of these bonuses starts today, September 13. However, they last for different durations. Mewtwo starts last, but will also remain for a month.
- Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos will spawn in raids from September 13 at 10:00 PM (you should be able to see them from September 14 onward)
- They will remain in the game for a week until September 20 at 10:00 PM.
- You will have the chance to catch shiny forms of these 3 birds during this time.
- Regional Pokémon will hatch from 7KM eggs starting at 10:00 PM on September 13.
- This reward is supposed to be active until September 30.
- They are in addition to the Alolan monsters in the eggs.
- Everything about the regional monsters from eggs and which gifts count for that
- Kanto Spawns will run at the same time as regional Pokémon.
- From September 13 to September 30.
- During this time you will find more Pokémon from the Kanto region in the wild and in raids.
- Mewtwo will come to the raids of Pokémon GO starting from September 20.
- It will stay there until October 23.
Regional Pokémon in 7KM eggs
Previously, you had to travel to their regions to catch the regional Pokémon. Occasionally, there were a few monsters that broke out from their region and came to Europe for events, for example.
This is new now: You will get the chance during the Ultra Event that regional Pokémon will hatch from 7KM eggs. These are
- Kangaskhan
- Tauros
- Mr. Mime
- Hitmonlee
They join the Alolan monsters that you already know as loot from the 7KM eggs.
Why do you need the regional monsters? In the meta, the regional monsters don’t have much to say. There are much better attackers and defenders. You should still collect them to complete your PokéDex. It is unknown when and if these 4 monsters can hatch from eggs again.
Kanto spawns
To celebrate the special monsters of this Ultra Event, more Kanto Pokémon will appear in the game. These are the Pokémon of the 1st generation.
Where to find the Kanto monsters? The monsters are more common worldwide. They also appear more frequently in raid battles. We will publish a list when the new monsters are ready.
Which monsters should you keep an eye on? There are a few Kanto region Pokémon that you should prioritize during the event:
- Good, rare Pokémon with strong evolutions
- Machop
- Gible
- Magikarp
- Dratini
- Also interesting
- Eevee – Can appear as shiny, has strong evolutions
- Growlithe – For the chance of a shiny form
Interesting for the 4th generation: Trainers are already thinking about the 4th generation. The following Kanto Pokémon have evolutions in the 4th generation, which is why it is worthwhile to collect these forms and candies now.
- Rhyhorn
- Tangela
- Magmar
- Magnemite
- Electabuzz
- Slurpuff
- Porygon
Other interesting Kanto monsters: The following monsters are difficult to find, but should also be prioritized. Their evolutions play important roles in the meta.
- Gastly
- Abra
- Chansey
- Golem
