To reach level 80 in Pokémon GO, you need not only a lot of experience points, but you also have to complete some tasks. MeinMMO shows you which ones they are.
After the level update in Pokémon GO has been released, there is a new maximum level. Instead of stopping at level 50, it now ends at level 80.
While you had to complete tasks before the update to reach levels 41 to 50, this is now also the case for levels 71 – 80. We have summarized which ones they are.
Level 71
Requirements: To reach level 71, you need 8,000,000 experience points (a total of 93,853,000). Additionally, you must complete the following tasks:
- earn 15 platinum medals
- use 20 level ups on legendary or mysterious Pokémon
- achieve 999 great throws
- catch 100 Pokémon in a single day
The first 3 tasks of the level should be less of a problem. If you have trouble with the 100 monsters in one day, then use a spotlight hour or a community day for that.
Rewards: For reaching the level, you will receive the following rewards:
- Level 71 shoes
- 1 XL candy
- 1 premium battle pass
- 20 super potions
- 30 ultra balls
- 25 nanab berries
Level 72
Requirements: You need 8,750,000 experience points (a total of 102,603,000) to reach level 72. Additionally, the following tasks are required:
- earn 20 platinum medals
- complete a route for 7 consecutive days
- use 200 very effective charge attacks
- earn 1,000,000 stardust
To complete the 200 very effective charge attacks, you can use the battle league, rocket battles, raids, or practice battles against the 3 team leaders.
Rewards: For successfully leveling up, the following rewards await you:
- 1 XL candy
- 1 premium battle pass
- 1 lucky egg
- 10 super revives
- 30 ultra balls
- 25 himb berries
Level 73
Requirements: In addition to 9,500,000 experience points (a total of 112,103,000), you must complete the following tasks:
- earn 25 platinum medals
- purify 100 shadow Pokémon
- power up 3 Pokémon to their maximum CP value
- win 30 raids
It won’t help you to power up Pokémon to their maximum CP value before the task. If you do this and have not yet received the task, then wait. You can also power up the Pokémon to the second last level and perform the last power-up when you have received the task.
Rewards: You will receive the following rewards for reaching level 73:
- Level 73 sunglasses
- Storage limit for gifts increased by 5
- 1 XL candy
- 1 premium battle pass
- 20 super potions
- 30 ultra balls
- 25 sanan berries
Level 74
Requirements: For level 74, you need 10,250,000 experience points (122,353,000 in total) and must complete the following tasks:
- earn 30 platinum medals
- raise a dynamax move 20 times
- explore 200 km
- complete 250 field research tasks
The increase in dynamax moves only counts once you have the task. Remember that you will need some candies and XL candies of the Pokémon for this. So collect them in advance or wait with the increase of dynamax moves if possible.
Rewards: Once you have collected the experience points and completed the tasks, the following rewards await you:
- Storage limit for postcards increased by 50
- 1 XL candy
- 1 premium battle pass
- 1 incubator
- 10 super revives
- 30 ultra balls
- 25 nanab berries
Level 75
Requirements: For level 75, you need to collect 11,000,000 experience points (a total of 133,353,000) in addition to some tasks. The tasks consist of the following:
- earn 34 platinum medals
- hatch 75 eggs
- achieve 999 excellent throws
- send 500 gifts to friends
Rewards: The following rewards await you when you reach level 75:
- Level 75 pants
- Storage limit for Pokémon increased by 25
- 1 candy bag
- 5 star pieces
- 5 lures
- 2 super incubators
- 15 super revives
- 50 ultra balls
- 30 super potions
- 35 nanab berries
Level 76
Requirements: You need to collect 12,000,000 experience points (a total of 145,353,000) to reach level 76. In addition, the following tasks await you:
- earn 38 platinum medals
- defeat 100 rocket grunts
- explore 300 km
- catch 200 Pokémon in a single day
Use spotlight hours or, even better, community days to catch the 200 monsters in one day.
Rewards: The following items will be awarded to you if you complete all the level requirements:
- 1 XL candy
- 1 premium battle pass
- 1 lucky egg
- 20 super potions
- 30 ultra balls
- 25 sanan berries
Level 77
Requirements: To reach level 77, you must collect 13,000,000 experience points (a total of 158,353,000) and complete the following tasks:
- earn 41 platinum medals
- power up 7 Pokémon to their maximum CP value
- win 100 dynamax battles
- trade 10 Pokémon caught at least 300 km apart
As with level 73, the 7 Pokémon with the maximum CP value only count once you have unlocked the task.
Rewards: Once you have completed all tasks, the following rewards await you:
- Level 77 pose
- Storage limit for postcards increased by 50
- 1 XL candy
- 1 premium battle pass
- 1 incubator
- 10 super revives
- 30 ultra balls
- 25 nanab berries
Level 78
Requirements: For level 78, collect 14,000,000 experience points (a total of 172,353,000) and complete the following tasks:
- earn 44 platinum medals
- earn 400 hearts with your buddy Pokémon
- explore 400 km
- complete 500 field research tasks
Rewards: The following rewards await you at the new level:
- Storage limit for Pokémon increased by 75
- 1 XL candy
- 1 premium battle pass
- 20 super potions
- 30 ultra balls
- 25 himb berries
Level 79
Requirements: To reach the penultimate level, you need 15,000,000 experience points (187,353,000 in total) and must complete the following tasks:
- earn 47 platinum medals
- defeat a team rocket leader 30 times
- hatch 100 eggs
- receive 50 lucky Pokémon through trading
Whether the lucky Pokémon only count once you have unlocked the task is currently unknown. However, it is to be assumed.
Rewards: You will receive the following rewards when you reach level 79:
- Level 79 haircut (short)
- Level 79 haircut (long)
- 1 XL candy
- 1 premium battle pass
- 10 super revives
- 30 ultra balls
- 25 sanan berries
Level 80
Requirements: If you want to reach the last level in Pokémon GO, you need 16,000,000 experience points (a total of 203,353,000). In addition, you must complete the following tasks:
- earn 50 platinum medals
- win 80 battles in the battle league
- achieve 999 fabulous throws
- win 80 raids
Rewards: For the final level-up, you will receive the following rewards:
- Level 80 jacket
- Storage limit for Pokémon increased by 100
- Storage limit for items increased by 100
- 1 dynamax mushroom
- 7 lucky eggs
- 7 incense
- 5 super incubators
- 25 super revives
- 50 super potions

For leveling up, you will receive a variety of items. It can quickly happen that your item bag is full and you need to discard items. Therefore, you should know exactly which items you should keep and which items you can safely discard in Pokémon GO.
