As the community discovered, there is a trick for a 100% catch chance in Pokémon GO. New insights show that this trick does not work for all Pokémon.
What trick is it? In Pokémon GO, there is a special feature that is known from the main series games. Although this so-called “Critical Catch” has been integrated into the game for many years, there have been only a few insights about it so far.
How does the trick work? While this is triggered randomly in the main games, a trainer recently presented his method on Reddit to guarantee the Critical Catch. To do this, you need to hit a Pokémon with a Pokéball at the right moment.

Since the player’s discovery, the community has been diligently exploring the details of the feature. Here, diligent trainers on Reddit have now found out which Pokémon unfortunately do not have the Critical Catch activated.

Critical Catch does not work for all Pokémon
Which Pokémon does the trick not work for? As the community found out, the Critical Catch does not work for Pokémon that you can catch after a raid. However, the trick has been successfully tested and confirmed by the community for wild Pokémon.
Does the Critical Catch work for the Galar birds? So far, there is no guarantee whether the trick works with the rare, legendary Galar birds. It is likely, as they are not raid Pokémon, but wild, albeit rare and legendary Pokémon. Especially for the three Galar birds, the trick would provide great value, as they are very rare and difficult to catch.
Does the Critical Catch work for legendary Pokémon from the Battle League? There is still no conclusive finding about whether the trick works for legendary Pokémon that you can receive as a reward in the Battle League. However, since you do not have to use special Pokéballs for these like in raids, and these Pokémon cannot flee, the trick is probably not of the greatest importance here.
