Which Pokémon is it about? One of the most popular monsters in the game is the Electric-type Pokémon Pikachu. Even in the anime, it was always a loyal companion to you, evolving into a kind of mascot. In the mobile game, Pikachu has also become an indispensable part that cannot be imagined without.
Pikachu seems particularly fond of dressing up, as whenever the occasion permits, the yellow mouse gets all dressed up for you. In the past, it has been found in numerous festivities, such as Halloween and Christmas, as well as at special events like GO Fest, wearing special costumes.
These diverse designs have now created a real collecting hype among some trainers. Therefore, some players in the reddit community are now showcasing their achievements and expressing a desire for a new, important feature.

That collecting costumed Pokémon, especially from the Pikachu family, has become a bit of a hype is evident at the latest glance at the reddit post by the user umm_name. There, he shares a picture with 10 different costumed Pikachu as well as Raichu and asks, “Does anyone else collect Pikachu?”.

But as can be seen from the comments, the multitude of monsters also causes a space problem in Pokémon storage. For this reason, trainers are wishing for a new feature in the future.
Why do trainers even collect Pikachu?
Is Pikachu strong? No, Pikachu is not particularly strong. Therefore, it does not play a role in the GO Battle League and raids. A few costumed Pikachu can evolve into Raichu, but this monster is also rather uninteresting in battle.

What makes costumed Pikachu so special? Unlike the normal form, the costumes cannot be found permanently in the game. Some of them are even only available once during a specific event, like the two GO Fest costumes from 2021.
If you’re lucky enough to encounter a shiny specimen, it makes the Pokémon even more valuable. For example, at the release of the movie “Detective Pikachu,” due to a glitch, it was temporarily possible to catch Pikachu with a detective hat as shiny. Those who were able to get one are very lucky, as it is one of the rarest shinies in the game.
For this reason, trainers do not want to simply sort out and send away their costumes. Only moving them to Pokémon Home would be an option for some to create space. However, this is not currently possible for costumed monsters.
