Pokémon GO: Trainers find secret bonus, hoping that Niantic doesn’t take it away again

In Pokémon GO trainers have found a bonus for the incense. This brings you more spawns – but players are skeptical whether that will remain the case.

What kind of bonus is that? Normally the incense brings you one Pokémon every 5 minutes when you are still. This is only increased when you move. However, trainers have now found out: In the current event, you can increase the spawn rate with the incense. A user shared this in the Pokémon GO subreddit (via Reddit).

Then the incense suddenly brings a new Pokémon spawn every minute, even when you are not moving. This is extremely useful if you want to play from home.

How do you get the bonus? The key point is that you complete the first step of the temporary research Dunkle Flammen and choose a path there. Once you have done this, check for the incense in your item bag. The item should now be orange – a hint that it has become an “event incense.”

If you light this incense, you should get a spawn per minute, even without movement. However, it should be noted that some trainers report that the trick apparently does not work for them.
