And there is still a yawning silence regarding other information about the GO Fest 2023. But now a trainer has found a hidden hint that could reveal the date and location of the first live event for the GO Fest. We show you below what was found.
First live event for the GO Fest possibly in early June
Tourism site gives hint: Many Pokémon GO trainers are eagerly waiting for the first information about the upcoming GO Fest, especially the dates and locations for the planned live events.
Now the tourism site of the city of Vancouver (Washington) has given an initial hint, which the developers probably did not want, and is now gone from their site. However, Reddit user ricardorcd did not miss it.
He found a notice on the tourism site of the city of Vancouver (Washington) that was supposed to hint at this year’s GO Fest and shared this information in the subreddit of TheSilphRoad. However, this post has since been removed by a moderator.
When is the GO Fest supposed to take place there? If you managed to read the post on the Vancouver (Washington) page in time, you would have discovered a notice for the weekend of June 3rd to 4th, 2023. According to this, the popular GO Fest is supposed to take place on these days at Fort Vancouver National Historic Site.
The site wrote: “The GO Fest is a new event in Vancouver for Pokemon GO. The event takes place in Fort Vancouver, but the participants will spread out over the entire city after checking in.”
Are there any further hints about the GO Fest?
New event ticket: Yes, because the PokeMiners, a group of data miners, have already discovered a hint about the GO Fest. On April 22, a new event ticket named “Evergreen Ticket” was found in the game code.
This also fits with the find on the tourism site of Vancouver (Washington). The venue is located on “Evergreen Blvd”.
However, Niantic has always relied on the same graphics for the ticket in the past. This also surprises Reddit user Luke9251, who believes it is more likely a fan-organized event. He writes in the comments (via reddit.com): “They have never offered special in-game tickets for live events, it is strange that they are starting now.”
Special T-shirts: But that’s not all, because there is another hint. A local Pokémon GO group from Vancouver drew attention in March with a Facebook post in their community.
In their post from March 25, two logos were presented that show the skyline of Vancouver (Washington) and include the texts “Vancouver, USA” and “GO Fest”. The creator writes (via facebook.com): “New designs for our GO Fest and Vancouver Arena shirts! What do you think?”.
In response to a user’s inquiry about whether there will be a GO Fest there, the author of the post replied (via facebook.com): “The city has granted our group a grant to fund an event during the GO Fest. More information will follow.”
This speaks against a GO Fest in Vancouver
Content creator denies info: Despite the many hints suggesting a possible live event for the GO Fest in Vancouver, there are also things that speak against it. GO Stadium, a member of Niantic’s creator program, shares through his Twitter account that this hint would be false information.
He writes (via twitter.com): “We have been informed directly by Niantic that this information is false.” However, many trainers in the comments question why a city should advertise such an event if it is not planned there. A possible explanation could indeed be Luke9251’s consideration that it is merely a fan-organized event.
Short preparation time: In addition, there is not much time left until the first weekend of June. Niantic typically kicked off with a global event in previous years and then held the live events afterwards. So far, however, no announcement has been made for this.
However, a two-day event for the Whitsun weekend on May 27 and 28 has already been announced months ago, with the content still unknown. This was not resolved with the event announcement for May and remains secret.
In principle, it would be conceivable that the global GO Fest will take place on this weekend, although the lead time compared to previous years would be incredibly short. And there would not be much time left for the sale of event tickets for a possible live event in early June.
