In Pokémon GO there was a special research event for the Sinnoh Tour over the weekend. If you haven’t completed it yet, it might be difficult now.
What was this event? The big Sinnoh Tour, which took place over the weekend in Pokémon GO, was a major event with both a local and a global part. In the global segment, the debut of the primal forms of Palkia and Dialga was highlighted.
In line with the debut, a special research called GO Tour 2024: With Time Comes Space
was activated, which you can complete. If you couldn’t finish this during the event, it may take some time before you can complete it now.
Necessary Pokémon are no longer catchable
What is the problem? Depending on the path you chose for the research, you must catch either a primal Dialga or a primal Palkia in the second step. However, these two Pokémon are no longer available in raids since the event ended and are currently not catchable.
Additionally, in the third step, you must activate the respective adventure effect of the Pokémon once. If you haven’t caught them, you won’t be able to activate the adventure effect.
What can I do now to solve the research? If you are already in step 3, you can still get the adventure effect with the help of a friend. If that is the case, you can successfully complete the research even now.
However, if you are still in the second step, you must either be patient or hope for Niantic. In the past, such a special research was adjusted by Niantic afterwards, and the corresponding task was changed so that the research became completable, even without catching the respective Pokémon during the event.
In another special research, where you had to take snapshots of the legendary Pokémon Thundurus, Tornadus, and Landorus, you had to endure a long waiting period. It was not until many months after the special research was introduced that the three Pokémon became available in raids again, making the research feasible for those who had missed it previously.
Niantic might also bring back the primal forms of the Pokémon during the GO Fest in summer, making the task completable at the latest then.
What does the community say about it? On Reddit, there are some trainers who couldn’t complete the special research and draw parallels to the research involving snapshots.
