In Pokémon GO a new, rare monster is on the move. But so far, the little ice dino is quite elusive.
What kind of Pokémon is this? Frospino belongs to the Pokémon from the Paldea region that recently landed in Pokémon GO. It evolves into Cryospino and Espinodon.
The series counts as pseudo-legendary Pokémon, meaning monsters that are not legendary but still extremely powerful. This series also includes monsters like Dragoran, Knakrack, Trikephalo, and Grandiras.
Unfortunately for some trainers, Frospino shares not only the powerful evolution but also another aspect in common with the mentioned monsters: It may now be in Pokémon GO, but it’s extremely hard to find – similar to the release of Kaumalat or Miniras.
This is reported by trainers who have been unsuccessfully searching for Frospino since the event started.
Frospino hardly appears – soon landing in 10 km eggs
Where is Frospino? Currently, it is said to spawn in the wild, but it was already announced before the release as a spawn with luck
. Trainers suspected: This will be rare.
And that seems to be the case now, because some trainers report that they have found little to no Frospino so far.

For example, trainer PaLyFri72 posted in the subreddit TheSilphRoad about Pokémon GO, stating that they have yet to see a Frospino. The new monsters Pamo and Micrick are appearing more frequently – but the ice dino is still missing.
Other trainers agree:
They are going to be incredibly rare, so I would keep your expectations low about getting enough candy to evolve one or finding a solid candidate for evolution
, recommends a trainer (via reddit).- The user responds:
I would be glad just to see one!
(via reddit) It’s like Miniras, it’s supposed to be rare
, says another (via reddit)I played for three and a half hours this morning and didn’t see any Frospino silhouette until I got home and the weather changed to windy. Then I saw a second one, but couldn’t catch it because I was cooking
, another trainer tells (via reddit).
While some trainers desperately search for the monster, there are also voices that find it all exciting. For example, player TheMadJAM emphasizes: I actually like it when wild Pokémon are super rare. It makes it exciting. Honestly, it would be more natural if every Pokémon could spawn at any time, so that rarity comes from distribution.

Some trainers report that they have at least found one. A trainer on reddit even shared a screenshot showing that they caught a rare 100% specimen of Frospino.
Will finding it become easier? If Frospino follows the example of other pseudo-legendaries, it should become easier to find over the coming months, possibly even years. But that could take a while. Monsters like Kaumalat or Kapuno became notorious for being hard to find for a long time. Eventually, they then got a community day, where you could easily catch them.
However, there will also be a change with Frospino: After the event, starting from September 15, it will also be available in the 10 km eggs. Then you can try to hatch it there. But even with the eggs, you should probably expect that it hatches rather rarely.
Have you already caught a Frospino? If so, how? Let us know in the comments!
