In Pokémon GO, your monsters diligently defend arenas to collect coins for you. However, trainers have been calling for an important change here for years. We have summarized for you the idea for a new feature that a player has and how the community reacted here on MeinMMO.
Which monsters are involved? In Pokémon GO, your monsters can be useful not only in raids or the GO Battle League but can also collect important PokéCoins for the mobile game. To do this, you can place them in arenas of your team color, which are supposed to protect them from attackers from other teams. If they are defeated, you receive coins.
However, arenas are not always attacked by trainers from other team colors, and your monsters can languish in these arenas for weeks or even months. During this time, they cannot be used elsewhere, which often leads to frustration among the players. Now a Reddit user is calling for a new feature that is supposed to put an end to this problem.
New item should bring Pokémon back
What should change in the arenas? So far, players of Pokémon GO have no way to independently retrieve their monsters from the arenas. For this reason, they have been calling for an appropriate solution for years.
The Reddit user CombProfessional434 has also thought about this and developed an idea for a new item that is supposed to lure the Pokémon back: the Poké Flute.
What is the Poké Flute supposed to be? As Reddit user CombProfessional434 explains in his post, a so-called Poké Flute is supposed to finally provide a solution to the arena problem. The item was already introduced in the main Pokémon games Red and Blue and was used there to wake sleeping Pokémon in battle.
However, according to CombProfessional434, it should have a different use in Pokémon GO. According to him, players should have the option to purchase this item and then use it when they urgently want to retrieve a monster from an arena.
He writes: A “Poké Flute” would be a great item idea for when you want to retrieve Pokémon from arenas. […] It would really help players who have had their Pokémon stuck in an arena for a while and just want them back.
Trainers suspect: The flute would be super expensive
Trainers are skeptical: The proposal is met with mixed feelings in the Reddit community. A solution to the problem has long been overdue from the perspective of many players, but not all find a new item optimal. They suspect that Niantic will not provide a free version of such an item, but instead offer it in the shop for coins.
This could then be no longer proportionate to what a monster brings in coins from an arena. For this reason, they continue to wish for other solutions to independently retrieve their Pokémon, as can be read in the Reddit comments.

It helps the areas feel active. I live in a suburb, and there are (more and more) arenas where you don’t put Pokémon in because they won’t return for a week.
Would an implementation even be feasible? Coins are one of the most important features in Pokémon GO, as they can be used to purchase coveted items and upgrades in the shop. If you lack the coins for this, you can recharge them with real money, which in turn brings Niantic revenue.
For this reason, it is unlikely that the developers will introduce a free feature that returns your monsters without a loss of coins. Most players would exploit this by ensuring their maximum coins every day.
This is also what the Reddit user drnuzlocke believes, who writes the following in the comments: The only way to take Pokémon out of arenas would be to lose all the coins they would have earned. Otherwise, people would abuse it to constantly earn coins in arenas by taking their Pokémon out and putting them back in. There is definitely a ratio for a mechanic, but there are always concerns because selfish players ruin it for everyone.
