An advertisement image for one of the upcoming events of Pokémon GO might have revealed which is the next mysterious Pokémon to be released in the mobile game. We show you the image and the community discussion here.
What is it about? The Niantic team regularly releases new Pokémon in the mobile game Pokémon GO. This type of Pokémon doesn’t have to be particularly strong but is usually extremely rare and obtainable through specific research.
With the announcement for the upcoming air event, which brings costumed Pikachu and Corasonn, the Pokémon team has shared some advertisement images. Among them is one that shows previously unreleased monsters. For trainers, a hint: they could be coming next.
Release of Shaymin in the Spring Season?
This is the image:
Here you see the costumed Pikachu and also Corasonn, both of which are part of the air event in Pokémon GO. However, you can also recognize the Pokémon Sankabuh from the 7th generation (the sandcastle with the shovel, to the left of Pikachu) and Shaymin at the top right in the clouds.
Who is Shaymin? This is a mysterious Pokémon of type Grass (and in its Sky Form also Flying), originating from the fourth generation. Shaymin exists in Land Form and Sky Form – the latter can be recognized in the artwork.
There are also more exciting images that are available as promotional material on the website flying-pikachu.com.
This is the discussion: On reddit trainer duskyxlops shared one of the artwork images that is currently being discussed. He wrote the assumption “This artwork was used in connection with the upcoming air collaboration event and features Shaymin and Gen 7. This could mean that Shaymin [the reward] for the next mysterious task series in spring is.”
With over 700 upvotes, many trainers agree with the theory. However, there are also some concerns. User Byotan wrote “In 2022, they showed Mega-Lucario and Mega-Mewtwo in the promotional images and they have not been released yet. Knowing Niantic, I would keep my expectations low.”
In response, user ZekromFPS: “We should also remember that the anniversary artworks were made for Niantic. These air collaboration artworks are not for GO; they are for the whole thing that should have started 8 months ago. I see everyone focusing on Shaymin, even though Curelei, Sankabuh, and Lusardin are visible in the same image. But Alola isn’t coming anytime soon. It’s just artwork.”
Other trainers suspect that Shaymin might become part of the seasonal research like Hoopa.
What do you think? Is Niantic going to release new Pokémon from the 7th generation in the upcoming season in March, and could Shaymin become the mysterious Pokémon of this chapter, or are you skeptical and don’t believe that this Pokémon will come?
