For the Valentine’s Day event in February 2022 at Pokémon GO, nothing official is known yet. However, players now want to report a data mining find which potentially reveals the Pokémon that may be released for the event.
What’s new? The data miners from PokeMiners have noticed a few changes in the code of Pokémon GO (via PokeMiners.com). This includes tasks for the Lunar New Year, content for the Community Day featuring Bulbasaur, and forms for a Pokémon.
Trainers suspect that the forms for the Pokémon likely refer to the candidate that will be released for Valentine’s Day. We will show you here the finds and who it might be.
Data miners find Pokusan – For Valentine’s Day 2022?
This is the find: On January 14, 2022, the PokeMiners released their analysis of the latest data mining. The following was discovered:
- A catching challenge and a friendship challenge for the Lunar New Year event
- New bonus: double stardust when opening gifts
- Medals for the GO Tour
- Content for the Community Days featuring Seemops and with Bulbasaur
- New forms: Ruby Cream, Swirl Ruby, and Deoxys Normal
Which new Pokémon might come? The cream forms are clearly attributed to the Pokémon Pokusan. Pokusan is the evolution of Hokumil. Both are of the Fairy type and belong to the eighth generation of games.
The special thing about this Pokémon is that Pokusan can appear in nine different flavors and seven different decorations. This results in 63 possible form combinations (without shinies).
Ruby Cream and Ruby Mix are forms of Pokusan. Here’s what they look like:
Trainers suspect: By adding the forms for Pokusan, trainers believe that Niantic is currently actively developing this Pokémon. Due to its charming appearance, it could thematically fit into the Valentine’s Day event that will be held in February.
As Noobkiller69 writes (via reddit.com): “Pokusan for Valentine’s Day?”, to which user dabomerest replies: “I don’t think so, but it would be great if they did!”
Generally, Valentine’s Day in Pokémon GO is usually pink/rose, and accordingly, new Pokémon appear.
- For Valentine’s Day 2021, Somniam and Somnivora were introduced in the game
- For Valentine’s Day 2020, Ohrdoch and Mamolida appeared in the game for the first time
- For Valentine’s Day 2019, the baby Pokémon from Chansey, Wonneira, was introduced into the game
Thus, a release of Pokusan seems quite plausible. However, you should keep in mind that these forms and finds come from data miners, and Niantic has not yet officially confirmed that Pokusan will be activated in the game.
Other trainers write in the community that they would prefer to have missing Pokémon from earlier game generations in the game rather than new ones from the eighth generation.
How would you feel if Niantic released Pokusan for Valentine’s Day 2022? Is this a Pokémon that you would be excited about, or would you prefer other content? Let us know your opinion here on MeinMMO in the comments.
