In Pokémon GO the big Sinnoh Tour is coming, bringing you research around Dialga and Palkia. But the trainers are now disappointed because one important thing is missing. We at MeinMMO explain to you what it’s all about.
Which event is it about? Today, on February 24th, the big global Sinnoh Tour starts, which is all about space-time anomalies. Dialga and Palkia as well as their primal forms are an important part in the coming two event days, which is why they have received their own special research.
However, this is now causing a lot of frustration among trainers. We have summarized why they are so disappointed and what it means for you below.
Dialga and Palkia are not available from the research
Why are the trainers frustrated? As with every major Pokémon event, a thematically fitting special research was also designed for the Sinnoh Tour. This usually revolves around monsters that play an important role during an event. This weekend, Dialga and Palkia are in the spotlight.
In the context of the research Path to Sinnoh
, trainers could decide whether their research and the associated bonuses should revolve around Diamond (Dialga) or Pearl (Palkia). For many trainers, it was natural that they would encounter an example of their chosen representative in its primal form during the research available during the event. And the accompanying original announcement in the game also suggested that.
But now the disillusionment: nothing! As trainers from the first time zones report, where the Sinnoh Tour is already in progress, there will be no encounter with Dialga or Palkia in the special research ‘GO Tour 2024: Time Comes, Space Comes’.
What does this mean for the trainers? If you want to secure one of the two monsters with the corresponding special attack, you have to do raids and thus invest valuable passes. Note that you can only find the primal forms of the two legendary monsters in raids during the habitats Historical Grove
and Geothermal Lagoon
.
Trainers are angry: That is really shabby
How are the trainers reacting? The mood in the community regarding this is heated, as many were hoping for an encounter to secure the special attack. Reddit user AutumnalAlchemist is also disappointed and writes (via reddit.com):
In the info for the choice of the diamond/pearl badge, it said that we would receive an encounter with this Pokémon. […] It seems like I’m not the only one expecting this encounter. […] Now I see reports from people where the global event has started and who are stating that there is actually no free encounter with the Pokémon and that you can only obtain it in raids. Am I the only one who thinks that’s really shabby?
Trainers criticize wording in announcement: And he is not alone, as many other trainers are also not pleased with this development. The wording regarding the choice of the respective monster is particularly criticized, as it directly advertised an encounter with one of the primal forms and its special attack, as can be seen in the image from AutumnalAlchemist (via reddit.com).
So SlytherKitty13 writes: Yes, I mean, it said ‘encounter a primal Pokémon …’, which sounds very personal, right? They never use such wording when it comes to Pokémon that are meant to be caught in raids, especially since they know that people doing raids never just do one. Even the ‘big’ Pogo content people, who make infographics and social media stuff, seemed convinced by this wording that players should expect an encounter. What a disappointment.
And Plus-Pomegranate8045 is also sure that it could have been handled better: Wait, really? That’s terrible if true. If that’s the case, they could have just formulated it like this: ‘Encounter the primal form of Dialga in raids that know the special attack ‘Roar of Time’, to avoid any confusion.
What’s next? As attentive trainers have noticed, the text in the game has since been adjusted. The hint regarding an encounter from raid battles can now be found there. It is therefore not to be expected that the developers will make a last-minute change here.
Were you also hoping for an encounter from the research? And are you now disappointed that there won’t be one? Or did you want to play plenty of raids anyway? Feel free to let us know here at MeinMMO in the comments.
