In Pokémon GO, there is currently a confetti rain. This appears as a reward for an event but at the same time causes a lot of trouble. Because for some trainers, the performance of the game is noticeably dropping. We at MeinMMO explain what is happening.
What is this confetti rain? Since November 5th, the Festival of Lights has been running in Pokémon GO. It is an event in which Team GO Rocket played an important role. They tried to sabotage the festival from the shadows and capture the Pokémon Hoopa.
However, through the victory over the leader Giovanni and Team GO Rocket in general, a special reward has been unlocked. Currently, there is a confetti rain that is supposed to stay until the end of the event and affects all players.
The Festival of Lights ends on November 14 at 8:00 PM local time. But this time cannot come soon enough for some trainers who are currently having serious problems because of the confetti rain.
So much confetti that performance suffers
What is the problem? On reddit, many users report that the confetti rain is simply too exaggerated. The entire display is covered with colorful snippets, which also impact visibility and gameplay:
- For example, user 137Brain complains about the confetti rain, which would “damage his eyes” (via reddit).
- In the same thread, several users complain about FPS drops and performance due to the confetti rain. Birphon writes, “It’s not only painful to look at, it also lowers my FPS. It’s so hard to see anything at all.”
- User Luminoose even complains about headaches caused by the excessive confetti.
Can you deactivate the confetti rain? No, there is currently no option for that. However, many players are demanding it.
The confetti rain has only been active for a few hours. Perhaps Niantic will respond to the complaints coming from the players.
But not only the confetti rain is currently upsetting players. There is also a lot of anger because arenas and PokéStops are being removed:
Trainers are angry because Pokémon GO is removing arenas – “Focus on the bugs instead”
