The Master Ball is a rare and special item in Pokémon GO. You can find out here why a trainer used it for a Jigglypuff and why she does not regret her decision.
Why is the Master Ball so special? The Master Ball is a ball that has a 100% chance of catching a Pokémon. It is very rare and has only been available temporarily through limited research that was lengthy and complicated. Therefore, trainers use the Master Ball on Pokémon that are worth it.
A trainer now reports on Reddit that she used the Master Ball for a Pokémon that most trainers would consider a waste – for a Jigglypuff. This is a Jigglypuff with a bow, which could be caught during the New Year’s event. Additionally, this specimen appeared as shiny.

A large part of the community sees the use of the Master Ball here as ‘waste’
What does the community say about it? Many trainers from the community say that using a Master Ball for a Jigglypuff is unnecessary and wasteful. You could have just used a Razz Berry and a Great or Ultra Ball to catch this Pokémon
, writes one trainer.
I’m mad, a golden Razz Berry and an Ultra Ball would have been enough, so this triggers me
, comments another trainer, while another writes what a waste
.
But there are also trainers who can understand the use of the Master Ball here. [..] People who use the Master Ball for Pokémon that make them happy live a carefree life, and I respect that because it’s a mentality we should strive for when it comes to games to enjoy them.
What does the trainer say about it? The trainer herself fully supports her decision and does not regret it. I’m not afraid of missing the Galar birds like some people and Hundo raid Pokémon don’t interest me, but I would have been devastated for months if I hadn’t gotten this costumed shiny Jigglypuff, so it was worth it
. What do you think about it? Do you also think she wasted the Master Ball, or did she do everything right since it’s a Pokémon she really wanted to have? What have you used Master Balls for so far? You can also find more about the events in January in Pokémon GO with us.
