Some Pokémon in Pokémon GO are rarer than others. A trainer has now caught one of the rarest – with stats that couldn’t be better.
Which Pokémon is it? In the subreddit for Pokémon GO, a trainer is currently delighting the community with an image showing the result of their latest trade.
The monster in question is Mewtwo – but not just any Mewtwo, but the armored one. You can check out the post here:
But that’s not all: As trainer “Wonderful-Ear-5003” proves, he didn’t just get the rare monster, but also had immense luck. During the trade, a random “lucky trade” was triggered, which means it is now a lucky Pokémon that can be powered up for significantly less Stardust.
And because that’s still not enough: The monster also received perfect stats when the values were rerolled during the trade. In short: He now owns one of the rarest and most coveted monsters in the game, and it is “perfect.” As the trainer describes, it is the first “perfect lucky Pokémon” he has ever received. What a start for a collection!
What makes armored Mewtwo so special?
In the comments, trainers express their admiration. Comments like:
- “Keep this forever” (via reddit).
- “This is your official highlight, from here it can only go downhill” (via reddit).
- “Congratulations! You are the chosen one, my friend” (via reddit).
But what makes the monster so special?
The answer: On one hand, it is simply Mewtwo in a special form that can also perform strongly in the PvP league thanks to high defensive stats. The armored variant is also iconic because it appeared in the original Pokémon movie “Mewtwo Strikes Back” and in its 2019 remake.
But the main reason is that this monster was available in Pokémon GO for only a very short time – and that was long ago. It first appeared coinciding with the release of the Pokémon movie remake and the Pokémon Day in 2019, then reappeared in February 2020.
So now, we can only hope, just like the trainer from the post, to acquire it: through a trade. And if it brings such stats, that would indeed be the grand prize.
In general, armored Mewtwo belongs to a series of Pokémon that could make a return after a long time. This also includes the monster Zarude – however, its return was recently announced.
