In Pokémon GO you can currently challenge Mega-Tyranitar. How the raid is easier to beat than most trainers believe.
What kind of raid is this? Until Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 10:00 AM, you can encounter Mega-Tyranitar in Mega Raids. This is the Mega Evolution of Tyranitar. The Pokémon from the 2nd generation is one of the strongest attackers in Pokémon GO and can be used as both a Dark and Rock attacker with the right moves.
Many trainers believe that a large number of trainers with optimal Pokémon are needed for these Mega Raids. However, as one trainer reports on Reddit, the raid can be beaten with just two players. And that, without having a perfect team and trainers at level 50.
Use Mega-Tyranitar’s double weakness to your advantage
What does the trainer report? As explained by one of the two trainers in his Reddit post, they managed to defeat two Mega-Tyranitars together. And they do not have the strongest Pokémon, nor are they even level 40. The trainer writes:
Together with a friend and team play, we defeated it twice, and we are only LvI 39 and LvI 35. And we don’t have the best fighters like Lucario or Terrakion; a bunch of Machamp and Hariyama with a maximum of 2600 CP got the job done.
How can you defeat Mega-Tyranitar? So you do not need many trainers with perfect Pokémon to defeat this raid. Other trainers have already said that the most raids are much easier than many trainers think.
To defeat Mega-Tyranitar, it is perfectly sufficient to be two players and use some of the best counters against Mega-Tyranitar. Even if they are not at the maximum level and do not take the top spots of the best counters. And you don’t even need to be level 40 for this.
Since Mega-Tyranitar has the types Dark and Rock and both have a weakness against Fighting Pokémon, you should make sure to bring appropriate Fighting Pokémon. Machamp and Hariyama are good and strong Pokémon that are also easier to obtain and level than, for example, Lucario or Terrakion.
