In Pokémon GO, a trainer is warning against using catch gadgets at the wrong moment – as he believes it cost him his Master Ball.

, an item that allows you to get special spawns for 15 minutes while walking.

of these 15 minutes is currently the rare Galar birds that can appear randomly. However, they are difficult to catch and tend to flee. That’s why some trainers are currently using their new Master Ball for these monsters, which guarantees to catch them. So did a trainer on reddit.
But the user ExtensionEgg7233
was quite surprised when he tried to catch his new Galar Zapdos: Because apparently his autocatcher, the “PokéBall Plus”, had already selected it.
“I clicked on the Zapdos and used my Master Ball, but my Pokéball Plus must have already selected it,” the user describes. When trying to catch it with the Master Ball, he then received an error message stating that “the Pokémon could not be found, and now it’s no longer in my storage!” The Master Ball is supposed to catch every Pokémon for sure.
To make matters worse, the Master Ball was now also gone – and you only get one of those. That’s why the trainer warns against using the autocatcher in such situations with the daily adventure incense.
But other users are already reassuring him, saying: It’s okay, and the ball is likely not lost.

What do trainers say about this? In the comments, there are immediately some players who have an idea about the problem. Effectively they say: Have you tried turning it off and on again?
One user writes that he had exactly the same problem: Just reload your game, it’s not gone. I did the same thing when I went to work the other morning, and it reset when the game realized I hadn’t caught it

Another user refers to a friend who also had the problem with the adventure incense, which was resolved by reloading. He also mentions the support, which usually suggests exactly that first.
Moreover, the support of Pokémon GO often recommends the option Update game data
for bugs and similar issues. You can find this in the advanced settings. It is supposed to be used when one detects problems in the game.
Another tip from an autocatcher user: One should first throw a berry at a Pokémon before attempting a catch. If the Gotcha has already detected the spawns, an error should appear now (via reddit). This way, one doesn’t even get tempted to throw the Master Ball.
Overall, trainers recommend to the user to use these options or, if in doubt, to contact support. However, whether it worked is still uncertain – the user has not provided further updates yet.
By the way: Some players in the thread report having caught Galar birds with the autocatcher just like that. So there does seem to be a chance of success.
