In Pokémon GO the raid with Shuckle is one of the most feared for solo players. Although the turtle is not particularly strong, it can take a lot of hits. Now, a trainer has defeated it alone and the community is celebrating the video.
What did the trainer do? On reddit, user ArktisPingvin shows a video of his battle against Shuckle and explains that one can indeed take on the turtle. In the past, trainers have tried this but failed miserably, as the turtle is so well-protected in its shell. They simply lost against time.
Now, more videos are appearing of trainers taking advantage of the cold weather and finally defeating the turtle as a single trainer with just one Pokémon.
“Wow, it was still very close”
This is what the trainer shows: In his video, ArktisPingvin writes that he has been waiting a long time for the solo victory against Shuckle. However, he found a raid when it was snowing in the game. Due to the weather, the moves “Bullet Seed” and “Meteor Mash” of his Shadow Metagross are boosted and deal even more damage to Shuckle. This bonus is important for the solo raid.
As an attacker, he used a Shadow Metagross at level 50 with 15 attack points and an IV value of 91.

This is what the players say: The video is well-received in the community of TheSilphRoad. Players are excited to see that one can really defeat Shuckle alone, as long as the weather is right. Another user later posted a video showing that even a Shadow Metagross at level 45 can win the battle (via reddit.com).

Why is Shuckle so hard at level 3? The special thing is that level 3 raids can actually be completed solo. However, some players have a lot of difficulty with Shuckle. The reason for this is the enormous defense values.
Let’s look at its stats: With an attack of 17, it ranks, along with Shadow Shuckle, 982nd and 983rd out of 983 positions. So it’s at the bottom. Its stamina value of 85 puts it in 971st place out of 983. Just ahead of Magikarp. In return, Shuckle has a defense value of 396, which places it at the absolute top of the 983 Pokémon. Even ahead of the defensive form of Deoxys, which has over 330 defense.
That’s why trainers take unusually long in this level 3 raid.
