A trainer reports on his Mega Swampert raid in Pokémon GO, which started off quite oddly. However, the Pokémon encounter that followed clearly shows that something went wrong.
What kind of raid is this? Until June 15th, Mega Raids featuring Mega Swampert are happening in Pokémon GO with Mega Swampert. A sought-after Pokémon that many trainers want to have due to its strength. Accordingly, the current Mega Raids are quite popular. From June 15th, Mega Sceptile can be found in this type of raid battles.
Trainers are still using the last bit of time to secure strong Swampert. However, one player was left completely disappointed after an encounter.
Alomomola instead of Mega Swampert – How could this happen?
This is what the trainer writes: On Reddit, user Quixoticry9 turns to the community and writes: “My Mega Swampert evolved into an Alomomola.” He explains that the battle started off strangely. “The raid started with half health and afterwards, I encountered Alomomola instead of Swampert.”
The player showed screenshots of the raid and the Pokémon encounter. Upon request, he also provided a screenshot of his journal entry, which displays the raid rewards and the Pokémon catch.
Other trainers find the evidence for their suspicion:
“Looks like the game was bugged and showed you a Swampert. From the [journal] entry, it appears you didn’t receive any energy. So it seems like there was an error, and you actually had an Alomomola raid,” writes RevCorex.
Quixoticry9 explains that Alomomola was likely fighting with the Swampert moveset but using Alomomola’s stats. “It felt like a 1-star raid and it started with half health. I assume it’s Alomomola’s full HP compared to the health bar of Swampert.” The player found the raid via the Campfire app.
