Since October first, you can find the raid boss Genesect in the 5-star raids in Pokémon GO. Shortly after its arrival, it was already defeated by a single trainer with just one Pokémon. We show you the battle here.
What makes it special? Genesect is a level 5 raid boss. This is one of the most difficult raid categories that Pokémon GO uses, along with mega raids. Normally, groups of at least three to four players are recommended against a boss of this magnitude. If players manage to do it solo, it is a strong achievement.
The battle against Genesect is considered a challenge for a solo attack by many. We show you a brief battle here, in which only a Charizard is used as the attacker.
Only 5 seconds remaining – Defeating Genesect solo
This is how the battle goes: On reddit, amatom27 published a video with a duration of 5 minutes and 10 seconds. The battle begins and amatom27 attacks without wasting time. Because as we will see later, every second counts.
As an attacker, the trainer selects a Mega Charizard at level 50 with 100% IV values. His Mega Charizard is also boosted by the weather, further enhancing its attack.
It is also crucial that the attacker masters the move Blast Burn. This powerful fire-type attack is particularly effective against Genesect, which is Bug/Steel type and has a double weakness to fire. You can find the best counters against Genesect here.
We embed the battle here:
During the battle, amatom27 has to constantly revive his Charizard. The trainer explains that it is helpful to use up all your healing items. This way, you don’t have to scroll to get to the revives, which saves important time.
It’s that close: In the last seconds of the battle, it gets really exciting. Genesect has only a few hit points left, but time is almost up. Ultimately, the attacker manages to succeed with about 5 seconds remaining.
In the comments of the video, the community expresses its enthusiasm and congratulates amatom27.
There are already more videos on YouTube and reddit showcasing how trainers solo this boss. This is not the first time that a supposedly difficult boss is defeated alone. At the release of Moltres, the boss battle was so easy that many managed to do it solo.
