In Pokémon GO, the record for the most experience points for a single Pokémon catch has apparently been broken. A trainer secured 73,760 XP. How did he do it?
This is what happened: On the platform reddit, trainer AirbenderSteven shows a screenshot from Pokémon GO. The graphic displays the catch rewards he earned for Flauschling. What’s special about it are some bonuses that the trainer saved and combined.
With this targeted catch, he managed to receive a tremendous amount of experience points for just a single throw. The trainer community is celebrating this achievement and giving the player a lot of support.
How did he do it?
These are the XP: The XP are divided into 8 different areas. The largest portion is for the part that rewards the trainer for catching Pokémon on 7 consecutive days. This is known as the 7-Day Streak.
- Caught Pokémon: 800 XP
- New Pokémon: 2,000 XP
- First catch of the day: 12,000 XP
- Streak bonus: 48,000 XP
- Fabulous throw: 8,000 XP
- Curveball: 160 XP
- On the first throw: 400 XP
- Expert Handler: 2,400 XP
The bonus for the “new Pokémon” was earned because he saved the encounter with Flauschling until that moment. If the “Expert Handler” bonus doesn’t mean anything to you: It is available with AR+. When you approach a Pokémon and manage to catch it without it noticing you, this bonus is credited.
Additionally, AirbenderSteven received 13,687 stardust for this catch.
These bonuses were in the game: In Pokémon GO, there is currently an event for players with tickets in the USA, Mexico, and Japan. Participants of the event receive quadruple experience points for catching Pokémon.
Trainer AirbenderSteven writes: “World record for catch XP. The absolute highest amount of experience points that can be received since the launch of Pokémon GO. Eight times experience points for each individual category except ‘new Pokémon’, which is only increased by the lucky egg and nothing else.”
To receive so many XP, the event, a lucky egg, good timing, and the skills of the trainer all came together.
