The new “Pokémon GO” tracker with the “Nearby” feature has now been expanded for testing in additional countries. When will the tracker be available in Germany?
In Germany, trainers currently have a hard time when they want to track Pokémon. Wild Pokémon were displayed at the game’s launch using a “Nearby” function and footprints. After this feature caused server issues, it was removed from the game. However, the developers want to offer a new solution for tracking wild Pokémon and are already working on a new tracker. This has been tested in selected areas in America so far. Now the testing phase is taking a step further and unlocking the tracker in other countries.
Nearby – Nearby Tracker
The new tracker was originally available only for testing purposes in San Francisco, California. This testing phase is now also taking place outside of San Francisco. To allow more trainers to try out the feature and provide feedback, the “Nearby” and sightings features are now available in the following locations:
- America: All states west of the Mississippi (Except Hawaii and Alaska)
- Canada: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and the western half of Ontario
- Australia: All states and territories of Australia
In this tracker, there are the 2 functions Nearby and Spottings. Recently, work has been done on the Nearby feature, which can now display up to 9 Pokémon.
The developers value feedback on social networks and other channels. The community’s feedback will continue to be monitored to make any necessary changes to the game.
These features are not yet available in Germany. There is also no information on when they can be expected in Central Europe.
