The “Pokémon GO” tracker being tested in America has received some changes. We show you how the tracker works.
After removing the original “Nearby” feature from Pokémon GO, fans were angry. With this feature, it was easy to track wild Pokémon. Instead of wandering aimlessly through the streets, players could rely on a footprint indicator that changed depending on the distance to the Pokémon. A new tracker has been in development for some time now, currently being tested in America. This tracker has been modified with the current Patch 0.47.1 and now shows more Pokémon nearby.
Changes to “Nearby” and “Sightings”
The test version of the tracker for wild Pokémon is currently available only in selected regions of America, including parts of San Francisco. The tracker has been in the testing phase there since August and includes features like “Nearby” and “Sightings”. So far, these two categories were combined into one function, which looked like the right side of the following image:
With the release of Patch 0.47.1, there have been changes to these functions. The “Nearby” Pokémon now have more space on one page, as the “Sightings” have been removed from there. Up to 9 Pokémon that are nearby will be displayed there. This is the new “Nearby” display of the tracker:
Previously, sightings displayed Pokémon that were near the PokéStops visible in the background image. Unfortunately, this option is currently not active. If you want to prepare for the new tracker before it is released in Germany, you can see the features of the new Pokémon GO tracker.
