The Pokémon GO Tour: Johto in February 2022 is approaching. You can participate in the event with or without a ticket. We will show you the differences, what advantages ticket buyers have, and whether the purchase is worth it.
In February, the big Pokémon GO Tour with the theme “Johto” starts. This is a one-day event for which trainers can purchase a ticket. However, the ticket is not mandatory to participate. It simply unlocks additional content and bonuses.
We will show you here in the overview which content you will get if you do not buy a ticket. This includes the comparison to the content that ticket buyers receive. This way, you can easily find out if a purchase is worth it for your needs.
What content does the Johto Tour bring without a ticket?
When does it take place? On February 26 from 09:00 to 21:00 local time
How much does the ticket cost? If you buy a ticket, you have to pay about 11.99 €. Every ticket buyer can choose between the Silver or Gold Edition.
What bonuses are there?
With Ticket
– All Pokémon from the Johto region will appear in the wild, in raids, and as rewards from research. They will be attracted by incense and hatch from eggs.
– All Johto Pokémon will also appear as Shiny
– Additionally, there is a special research with Celebi and later a masterpiece research.
– Unown in the letters G, O, T, U, R, and J are available – even as Shiny
– Special collector medals
– Free bundle in the shop
– Eggs hatch four times faster
– Double candy from hatching eggs
– Extra candies when you catch Johto Pokémon
– Up to nine free raid passes by spinning photo discs at gyms

Without Ticket
– Some Pokémon from the Johto region will appear in the wild, in raids, and hatch from 7 km eggs – also as Shiny
– Pokémon like Pichu, Pii, Fluffeluff, and Togepi hatch from 2 km eggs
– A timed research on trainer battles
The bonuses without a ticket in detail:
If you do not buy a ticket, you can participate in a scaled-down version of the Johto Tour. Some bonuses you will receive only partially, others not at all. We will take a closer look at the bonuses that every player receives without a ticket.
- Pokémon from the Johto region will appear in the wild, in raids, and hatch from 7 km eggs. In raids, this also includes Entei, Suicune, Raikou, Lugia, and Ho-Oh. Lugia you catch during the event knows the special move Air Slash. Ho-Oh you catch during the event knows the special move Sacred Fire.
- Additionally, the regional Pokémon Heracross and Corsola will appear globally in raid battles
- From the 2 km eggs hatch Pichu, Pii, Fluffeluff, Togepi, Ralts, Swablu, Electabuzz, and Magby
- You can perform 6 special trades during the event
- During the event, 5 habitats will rotate – all of them will offer different Pokémon
- The event will be musically accompanied by music from the Pokémon composer Junichi Masuda
- You can solve a timed research focused on trainer battles
- The strong Eevee bonus is available to you until 23:00 local time – the bonus ensures that the evolutions of Espeon and Umbreon have no kilometer requirement
You will forfeit the exclusive event special research without a ticket, which guarantees you a Shiny Gyarados and the mysterious Pokémon Celebi. Only by completing this special research will you receive the exclusive masterpiece research.
Additionally, you will miss out on bonuses for egg hatching speed, more candies through hatching, and for catching Johto Pokémon, stickers from stops, an in-game medal, the free bundle with 3 remote raid passes, and the 9 additional free raid passes.
