In Pokémon GO starts tomorrow, on April 13th, the big Rivals Week. It brings you new Pokémon, exciting Shinies, and many bonuses. Here is an overview.
How long does the Rivals Week last? It starts on Tuesday at 10:00 AM local time. You can use the bonuses until April 18th at 8:00 PM. The event lasts about 6 days, filled with bonuses.
This event is about rival Pokémon. There are some monsters in the Pokémon world that are enemies purely based on the story. They will appear more frequently during the event.
Rivals Week brings Algitt and Scampisto as new Pokémon
These are the bonuses: The list is long again this time. Here are all the bonuses:
- Algitt and Scampisto are making their debut in Pokémon GO – They appear in the wild, in quests, and in raids
- There is a Global Challenge mainly focused on raids
- In the wild you can find: Kicklee, Nockchan, Makuhita, Meditie, Sengo, and Vipitis
- In 5 km eggs, you can find: Machollo, Rabauz, Elekid, Magby, Makuhita, Meditie, Sengo, and Vipitis
- In raids, you can find: Nidoqueen, Nidoking, Sengo, and Vipitis
- New field research includes event Pokémon
- Team Rocket appears more frequently at PokéStops
- Demeteros in the Therian form appears for the first time in level 5 raids
How special are the spawns? Some Pokémon will appear this week that are otherwise rather rare. Kicklee and Nockchan have only been available as Shiny since the Kanto Tour in February. During the event, you will get your first chance to hunt for the two Shinies outside of the Kanto Tour.
With Vipitis, you will find a regional Pokémon here that normally does not exist in Germany. So if you are still missing the Dex entry or the Shiny, you should take the chance.
Additionally, there are Algitt and Scampisto, which are at least interesting for the PokéDex. The evolutions of both Pokémon are not particularly strong. However, you can use the event to gather enough candies for the new monsters.
What should you take with you to the event? Besides the spawns, you should also challenge Demeteros in the Therian form. The legendary Pokémon is really strong and is one of the best ground attackers in the game. So you should invest some raid passes.
