Tomorrow morning, on March 13th, the big event for the start of the PvP league will kick off in Pokémon GO. We will show you the bonuses and let you know what is worth it.
When does the PvP event run? The event starts tomorrow morning at 08:00 local time, which is March 13th. You can take advantage of the bonuses until March 16th at 22:00.
During the event, the PvP league officially starts. It has been in a testing phase until now, and it kicks off officially on Friday night at 22:00.
All information about the big PvP event
What bonuses are there? The rewards are all related to the PvP league and the important Pokémon from it:
- You will find strong Pokémon for the PvP league in raids. Possibly also the ones that are currently available
- More fighting Pokémon will appear in the wild
- Giratina in its altered form returns in level 5 raids
- First time Shiny Practibalk will be available
- You will receive a free raid pass if you win 5 battles of a premium battle set
- Instead of 5, you can complete 7 battle sets per day
- There is more stardust in the PvP league
How to get Shiny Practibalk? This fighting Pokémon is actually only obtained from level 1 raids. You will continue to encounter it there and hopefully also receive it as a Shiny.
Niantic writes the following: “The best chances are when you defeat and catch it in level 1 raid battles!” It sounds a bit like it could also be available in other ways.
Which fighting Pokémon might appear more frequently: There are already some fighting-type Pokémon that you can encounter as Shiny. We show you the list:
- Menki
- Machollo
- Meditie
- Makuhita
- Riolu
Riolu is actually only obtainable from eggs. It remains to be seen if it might be available in some way during the event.
Are Giratina raids worth it? The altered form of Giratina is returning to raids this weekend. For the Hyper and Master League, this form is a solid choice and is among the best Pokémon.
However, the altered form is not useful for raids. Only the Shiny form of Giratina might attract trainers who are not focused on PvP.
