In Pokémon GO, the Raid Hour with Latias and Latios starts today, February 10. We show you the counters and whether it’s worth it at all.
What is a Raid Hour? This event takes place every Wednesday in Pokémon GO and lets a legendary raid appear for one hour at almost all gyms. During this time, you can easily move from gym to gym and participate in raids.
This week, Latias and Latios are the focus. They share the Raid Hour and both will appear.
All Info about the Raid Hour with Latias and Latios
When does the Raid Hour start? It starts at 6:00 PM local time. A few minutes before that, the black eggs will appear at the respective gyms. If another raid is already ongoing, usually another legendary raid will appear afterwards at the gym.
Use these counters: Latias and Latios are both Dragon and Psychic types. Effective against them are the types Ice, Dragon, Fairy, Bug, Dark, and Ghost.
The best Pokémon against both monsters are:
| Pokémon | Attacks |
| Rayquaza | Dragon Tail and Outrage |
| Dialga | Fire Breath and Draco Meteor |
| Garchomp | Dragon Tail and Outrage |
| Zekrom | Fire Breath and Outrage |
| Darkrai | Dark Pulse and Shadow Ball |

Are there Shiny Latias and Latios? Yes, you can already catch both legendary Pokémon in shiny form. You can easily recognize the differences. We will include the shiny versions here:
Is the Raid Hour worth it? If you need the shinies, you shouldn’t miss this event. You won’t find a better event soon to catch both shiny versions.
However, Latias and Latios are not the absolute best Pokémon. Latias does not play a role among the top attackers and Latios is a good alternative, but there are even stronger competitors.
If you urgently need strong Dragon or Psychic attackers, you should focus on Latios. If you already have a solid team, you can wait for raid hours of Mewtwo or Rayquaza.
By the way, Mewtwo will soon come to the raids. It will return for the Kanto tour. There it will appear together with Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos in the legendary raids. All information about the Kanto tour and the returnees can be found here:
