In Pokémon GO there is a repeat event for the GO Fest this Sunday, August 16th. We provide an overview of the event and tell you how to make the most of it.
What is it all about? At the end of July, the big GO Fest at Home took place. However, there were server issues, which prevented thousands of players worldwide from playing properly for a while.
As compensation for these problems, all trainers who had a ticket for the event can dive back into the GO Fest for 3 hours. The 3 hours will be repeated during which there were issues previously.
This is how the GO Fest repeat will go
When does the event take place? It starts today, Sunday, at 11 AM local time. Ticket holders can benefit again until 2 PM. There will be no special bonuses for players without a ticket during this period.
This will happen: The technical problems occurred at 3 different habitats. Therefore, Pokémon that appeared in the habitats
- Friendship
- Water
- and Fire
will appear more frequently in the wild.
Also, the item Incense is once again important. It will attract special Pokémon that can exclusively be found through Incense. One possible creature for this would be Unown.
In gifts, there might be special candies available during the entire 3 hours. You should open these during the event period.
In addition, there is a free box in the shop that contains 2x Incense and 2 remote raid passes. Incense will last for one hour during the event anyway. You would only need to invest one more Incense if you want to play the full 3 hours with Incense.
When will which Pokémon appear? There is again a precise schedule. The habitats will change hourly as follows:
- From 11:00 AM: Fire habitat
- From 12:00 PM: Water habitat
- From 1:00 PM: Friendship habitat
The spawns should look quite similar to those at the GO Fest. In our list of spawns at the GO Fest, you can see exactly which Pokémon will appear in the different habitats.
This is how to make the best of the GO Fest repeat
This is how you should proceed: You can make the most of the event if you are also on the go during the 3 hours. At home you can catch Pokémon through Incense, but while you’re out, you can encounter numerous spawns and additionally catch Pokémon from the Incense.
So follow these tips to catch many Pokémon:
- Use Incense for the entire 3 hours
- Walk through an area that generally has a lot of spawns – your village is often not the right choice
- Open gifts preferably when not much is going on in the game
- Raids can wait – you should catch Pokémon primarily

Which habitat is the most worthwhile? If you want to play for only one of the three hours, you should focus on the Fire hour. The best Fire attackers in the game will also appear in the wild there, and there are some rare shinies to be found.
Otherwise, you should primarily look at which shinies you still want to catch. During the event, the shiny rate will be increased again, giving you the best chances for the shiny specimens.
