What kind of event is this? A special event takes place in Pokémon GO every year on the occasion of Valentine’s Day. Naturally, thematically appropriate Pokémon are in focus. There will be another such Valentine’s Day event this year.
Of course, you can look forward to numerous bonuses, special spawns and shinies, as well as two cool challenges. Additionally, a new Pokémon and its evolutions will make its debut in Pokémon GO (via pokemongolive.com).
When does the Valentine’s Day event take place? The Valentine’s Day event starts on February 10, 2022, at 10:00 AM local time and runs until February 14, 2022, at 8:00 PM local time.
The Valentine’s Day Event – All Spawns and Shinies
As with every event, there will also be numerous spawns and shinies for Valentine’s Day. You can find these in the wild and in raids. Additionally, you can encounter the Fairy-type Pokémon Flabébé for the first time. Below, we summarize where you can find which monsters. In the wild, the following thematically appropriate Pokémon will primarily spawn during the Valentine’s Day event:

Which monsters should you not miss?
You should definitely secure three monsters during the Valentine’s Day event: Flabébé in its various colors, Coiffwaff, and Illumise. Additionally, there are more Pokémon that are worth it. We show you why.
Flabébé
The Fairy Pokémon Flabébé celebrates its debut during the Valentine’s Day event in Pokémon GO. This monster from the 6th generation will be available in 5 different colors: red, yellow, orange, blue, and white. However, not all variants are available in every region.
While you can catch Flabébé with a white or orange flower anywhere in the world, the red flower is only found in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The blue flower can be found in Asia and the yellow on the American continent.
Flabébé can be evolved into Floette and then into Florges. Even though Florges is not particularly strong and has just a high defense value, you should secure Flabébé in all possible colors during the event to complete your Pokédex. As a shiny, it is unfortunately not available yet.
Coiffwaff
This Normal-type Pokémon comes from the 6th generation and has no pre-evolutions or evolutions. However, Coiffwaff can take on a total of 9 different forms. It made its Pokémon GO debut at the Fashion Week event in 2021 and brought a special feature for changing its form into the game.
After Coiffwaff was less prominent after that event, it is now returning to the wild and raids. In keeping with Valentine’s Day, its Heart Form will be available for the first time. So if you are still missing some forms of Coiffwaff or want the new form, then this is your opportunity to gather enough candies for it.
But be careful: There are also forms of Coiffwaff that you can only get in certain regions.
Illumise
Illumise is also mainly interesting for the Pokédex, but also for shiny hunters. This Bug Pokémon comes from the 3rd generation and is the female form of Volbeat. In contrast to Volbeat, it is usually only found in America and Africa.
Additionally, the small bug is also available in its shiny form in the game. You can recognize it by the golden embellishments on its body. So if you are missing a shiny or have not registered it in your Pokédex yet, you should not miss this chance.
Other Interesting Pokémon
If you are looking for one of the strongest gym defenders, you should focus on Chansey. This Normal-type Pokémon can evolve into Blissey and has extremely strong stamina. Also, it is available as shiny.
With Ohrdoch, you can also enjoy a special bonus, as it is one of the 22 monsters that give you more stardust when catching.
