On September 1st, the Season of Light begins in Pokémon GO. We at MeinMMO have looked into what events, spawns, and bonuses await you in the new season and we will show you.
What kind of season is this? In Pokémon GO, there have been seasons for some time now, lasting 3 months and changing regularly. Each season highlights a particular theme, which is addressed through stories in special research or special events.
The Season of GO is now drawing to a close. The focus during this season was to encourage trainers to go outside and play together, which is why special features like the adventure incense were implemented in the game. Another central plot point was the disappearance of Professor Willow in the Ultra Dimension.
The current season will therefore be replaced on Thursday, September 1, 2022, by the Season of Lights. Everything will revolve around the universe, the sun, the moon, and light, and the storyline of the Ultra Beasts will continue.
Of course, you can also look forward to numerous spawns, bonuses, and plenty of events again. We have summarized which ones these will be below.
When does the Season of Light run? The Season of Light starts on September 1, 2022, at 10:00 AM local time and runs until December 1, 2022, at 10:00 AM local time. It thus lasts, as usual, for 3 months.

New Pokémon for The Season of Light
As previously suggested by various findings from the Pokéminers and initial hints from Niantic, you will encounter different new Pokémon during the Season of Light. The storyline regarding Professor Willow’s discovery will apparently continue. One Pokémon you will definitely meet is Cosmog.
The legendary Psychic Pokémon comes from the 7th generation of games and can evolve into Solgaleo and Lunala via Cosmovum. The monsters visually resemble the universe and various celestial bodies like the sun (Solgaleo) and the moon (Lunala).

We have summarized how strong the new monsters will be and whether they will have shiny forms in the following article:
