What kind of event is it? The Alola season is coming to an end, and for a grand finale, Pokémon GO is hosting the “Alola to Alola” event. Of course, it revolves around the Alola Pokémon and the guardians of the four Alola islands.
Furthermore, there will be some bonuses as well as the bonus special research, where you can choose from four different research tasks, rounding off the event.
When does the event take place? The “Alola to Alola” event starts on May 25, 2022, at 10:00 AM local time and runs until the end of the month, on May 31, 2022, at 8:00 PM local time.
All spawns and Shinies for the “Alola to Alola” event
During the event to conclude the Alola season, you can encounter numerous Alola Pokémon in the wild, as well as in raids and from eggs, which have accompanied you in the game over the past three months.
With a little luck, you might even snag one or another shiny specimen. All Pokémon that have a chance to be shiny are marked with a (*).

The bonus special research for the “Alola to Alola” event
What kind of research is this? During the Alola season, Pokémon GO has unlocked special research for each of the four Alola islands. If you complete all of these by the end of the season, on June 1, 2022, you will receive a bonus special research as part of the concluding event.
This again revolves around the islands Mele-Mele, Akala, Ula-Ula, and Poni. This way, you can choose from one of the four different research tasks. Each has different rewards, so keep that in mind when making your choice. Below we have listed all the contents that are hidden behind them.
Special research for Mele-Mele Island
This special research focuses on time with friends. It will revolve around “shared moments” like sending gifts or taking snapshots. You can expect the following rewards:
- 2x Snubbull
- 1x Incense
- 4x Lucky Eggs
- 1x encounter with Alolan Raichu*
- 1x cheerleading-style hat for your avatar
Special research for Akala Island
With the special research for Akala Island, you will receive tasks around “exciting adventures”. According to Niantic, you will need to cover a certain number of kilometers and spin PokéStops. As a reward, you will receive:
- 1x Incense
- 2x incubators
- 1x super incubator
- 1x encounter with Alolan Marowak*
- 1x hula-style hat for your avatar
Special research for Ula-Ula Island
You can showcase your catching skills and throwing skills with the special research for Ula-Ula Island. You will need to make certain throws and catch a certain number of monsters. You can look forward to the following rewards:
- 1x Glacier Lure Module
- 1x Magnetic Lure Module
- 4x Incense
- 1x encounter with Alolan Vulpix*
- 1x flamenco-style hat for your avatar
Special research for Poni Island
The special research for Poni Island revolves around battling. Look forward to PvP battles and defeat the bosses of Team GO Rocket. In return, you will receive:
- 1x Rocket Radar
- 3x Star Pieces
- 1x Premium Battle Pass
- 1x encounter with Alolan Exeggutor*
- 1x buyo-style hat for your avatar
Are there other ways to obtain the special research? Yes, those who have not yet completed the four previous special researches can also secure the bonus special research with the help of a ticket.
You can get this for about 4.99 euros in the in-game shop. Also, trainers who have unlocked the free bonus special research will have the opportunity to secure additional rewards with the help of the ticket.
