In Pokémon GO starts on May 11 the event “A Bold Hero”, where you can look forward to plenty of raid bosses, rare Shinies, and cool bonuses. We from MeinMMO will show you all the content that awaits you in the coming days.
What event is it? After the team leaders Blanche and Spark received their own events in Pokémon GO in recent weeks, now it’s Candela’s turn under the name “A Bold Hero”.
The focus of the event is on battles, so you will primarily encounter altered raid bosses. In addition to plenty of Shinies, there will also be the first opportunity to encounter Mega Pinsir. And of course, a bonus or two will not be missing. Below we have summarized what you can expect.
When does the event start? The event “A Bold Hero” starts on May 11, 2023, at 10:00 AM local time and runs until May 17, 2023, at 8:00 PM local time.
All Raid Bosses and Shinies for the Candela Event
Since the Candela event “A Bold Hero” will revolve around battles, the raid bosses will be adjusted accordingly. Wild spawns and Pokémon from eggs, on the other hand, will not be changed.
In the following overview, we show you all the raid bosses you may encounter in the coming days.
All that you can catch in their shiny forms with a bit of luck are marked with a (*):

So you have the chance to encounter some representatives from the Hisui region during the event. However, especially many trainers will find Mega Pinsir particularly interesting, as it makes its debut in the game on this occasion. With a bit of luck, you might encounter a shiny Pinsir after the raid.
Kapu-Kime, the protector of Poni Island, also returns to the raids and will also be found for the first time as a Shiny. You can recognize it by its black shell.

Another rare Shiny: In addition to the altered raid bosses, you will receive a special research where you can encounter a Ponita with a Candela accessory once. With a bit of luck, this can also be caught in its shiny form, making it even more special due to its rarity. You can recognize its shiny form by the blue flames it has as a mane.

Update from May 11: As Niantic announced in the early hours of May 11 via Twitter, two more bonuses were added to the event:
- 2 mysterious parts from Team GO Rocket Grunts
- up to 2 free raid passes daily when spinning the Photo Disc at gyms
