On Pokémon GO, the “Stars of Evolution” development event starts on October 5th. We at MeinMMO have taken a look at which spawns, shinies, and bonuses you can expect from this event and what highlights you can look forward to.
What event is this about? On October 5th, an event called “Stars of Evolution” starts in Pokémon GO. It’s all about evolutions. Of course, you can also encounter numerous monsters and benefit from various bonuses during this time. We have summarized what specific content you can expect below.
When does the development event run? “Stars of Evolution” starts on October 5, 2022, at 10:00 AM local time and runs until October 11, 2022, at 8:00 PM local time. You have just under a week to take advantage of the content.
All spawns and shinies for the development event
As you may already know from previous events, the spawns for the “Stars of Evolution” event will also be thematically adjusted. You will primarily encounter Pokémon that have evolutions.
Pokémon in the wild
In the wild, during the event, you can mainly encounter Pokémon from the first game generation. Keep an eye out for the following specimens:
- Kokuna
- Tauboga
- Quaputzi
- Kadabra
- Alpollo
- Rihorn*
- Seemon
- Sichlor*
- Evoli*
- Quiekel*
- Trasla*
- Zwirrlicht*
- Zapplardin
- Lichtel
- Eguana
All raid bosses for the development event
In the raids, the bosses have also been thematically adjusted for you. While you can find Pokémon of the first evolution stage in level 1 raids, the monsters in level 3 raids have already evolved once but can evolve again.
In level 5 raids, you can expect legendary Pokémon, which do not have previous or further evolutions, as usual. We will show you exactly which monsters you can find in the following table:

In the level 5 raids, there will also be a shiny debut. Xerneas can be found in its shiny form in the game for the first time. You can recognize it by its gray and light blue body and dark blue antlers.

During the “Stars of Evolution” event, you can not only catch a lot of monsters but also benefit from various bonuses. Here’s what you can expect:
- Special Research “A Cosmic Companion” continues
- Cosmog can be evolved into Cosmovum for the first time

- Reward: Stardust, evolution items, and mega energy

- Evolution Cup in the GO Battle League
- Requirement: Participation with Pokémon that have a maximum of 1,500 CP, are already evolved, and can evolve again
- Raid Day with Mega-Gyarados
Evolving Cosmog: With the start of the development event, you can also evolve Cosmog into Cosmovum for the first time. The legendary Pokémon from the 7th game generation could already be caught during the Special Research “A Cosmic Companion” in September.

Trainers have been waiting for weeks for the release of Cosmog’s evolutions, Cosmovum, Solgaleo, and Lunala, but they now have concerns about evolving Cosmovum. So far, you have only been able to catch one specimen.
As Niantic states in the event announcement, more Cosmog are supposed to follow in the “distant future”. However, according to current information, a development to Solgaleo and Lunala is not possible yet.

The Raid Day with Mega-Gyarados
What type of event is this? The Raid Day with Mega-Gyarados is a kind of mini-event during the development event. You can expect numerous Mega Raids that will grant you some bonuses.
When does the Raid Day run? The mini-event takes place on October 8, 2022, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
What bonuses are there? During the Raid Day, you can look forward to the following bonuses:
- Mega Raids with Mega-Gyarados will take place more frequently
- higher chances of a shiny Gyarados
- 5 additional raid passes
