In Pokémon GO the nests have undergone a major overhaul. Over 70 Pokémon have been removed as potential nest Pokémon. We will show you all the monsters that can appear in nests.
What are nests? These are places in Pokémon GO where a monster tends to appear very frequently. Almost all parks or green spaces that you have in your city are nests. A Pokémon then appears there more often, which is the nest Pokémon.
What has changed: Not all monsters in Pokémon GO can appear in nests. Previously, there were 100 monsters that could be considered nest Pokémon. A rotation occurred every 2 weeks, with new Pokémon coming into the nests from the list.
However, the nests have now been fundamentally changed. Instead of 100 possible monsters, there are now only 29 Pokémon that can appear in nests.
List of all possible nest Pokémon
This has been noticed: For the release of Generation 6 the nests were changed. Generally, the nests rotated one more time, but some Pokémon were completely removed from the rotation.
On reddit there is now a thread listing 29 Pokémon that currently appear in nests. Among them are also some monsters that have never appeared in nests before. Over 70 Pokémon have, however, disappeared from the nest list.
This is the list: We will include all the Pokémon here that have currently been found in nests:
| Generation | Pokémon |
| 1st Generation | Bulbasaur Charmander Squirtle Pikachu Clefairy Quaputzi Machop Seadra Staryu Eevee |
| 2nd Generation | Chinchou Shuckle Qwilfish Houndoom Phanphy Donphan |
| 3rd Generation | Treecko Torchic Mudkip Poochyena Makuhita Shroomish (new as nest Pokémon) Corphish (new as nest Pokémon) Swablu (new as nest Pokémon) |
| 4th Generation | Turtwig Chimchar Piplup Stunky Snorunt (new as nest Pokémon) |
You should keep in mind: The data here only refers to a nest change. The list might look completely different at the next change.
However, previously each prior nest change had significantly more Pokémon discovered in nests. It is definitely interesting that there are now significantly fewer nest Pokémon.
Is such a change good? For the general player base, it is definitely a good thing. Many “junk” Pokémon have been removed from the nests. Starters from the 2nd and 5th generations no longer appear in nests. Those who have enough candies for them will probably be pleased about this.
All in all, there are now significantly more Pokémon in nests that can be shiny. Only a few monsters, like Phanphy, Swablu, or Corphish appear in nests but cannot be shiny.
For individual trainers who hoped for a specific nest Pokémon that was removed, this is certainly not good news. However, one can hope that Niantic will revise the list again later.
In December, you will find new field research in Pokémon GO. We give you the overview:
