Pokémon GO is sorting out Mega Raids! A total of 4 Mega Pokémon will disappear from Raids in December. We will show you whether these bosses are still worth it.
This is happening in December: Just 2 days ago, Niantic announced the first events for the upcoming month. Now the developers also report that the Mega Raids will be changing. 4 bosses are disappearing.
- Mega Charizard Y
- Mega Blastoise
- Mega Pidgeot
- Mega Houndoom
The bosses will disappear on December 1st at 10:00 PM.
Instead, Mega Sceptile will come into the Raids immediately afterwards and will be available for the first time. We will show you what to expect in December during the Mega Raids and what the changes will mean.
4 Mega Raid bosses are leaving – Why?
This is behind the removal: Starting in December, the “GO Beyond” Update will begin. This will also introduce the seasons, which will have an effect on Mega Raids.
Niantic has already confirmed that some Mega Pokémon will become stronger during a season compared to others. A Mega Sceptile will likely be boosted by the first season, and the removed Pokémon could become rather weaker. In the next season, this might change again.
Which Mega Raids are there in December? Unless additional bosses are removed, the list of Mega Raids in December should look as follows:
- Mega Charizard X
- Mega Gengar
- Mega Sceptile
The selection is therefore limited. However, you shouldn’t be hoping for a specific boss, as there is a much greater chance of getting your desired boss.
Are the bosses still worth it? The 4 bosses that are disappearing in December are definitely worth it. Mega Pokémon are generally stronger than their normal forms and are a good choice in Raids.
However, the effort required for a Mega Pokémon and the few hours that a Mega Pokémon is available speak against these evolutions.
For the Mega Dex, you should have possessed each Mega Evolution at least once. So, if you are still short on energy for the evolutions, you should quickly complete the Mega Raids.
